Do any of you have any info or other pictures of this yellow Roadster ? It has the Watson nose on it that I want to put on my Roadster project. If you have a Watson nose in the attic, let me know
Hotrod had a "Dare to be Different" article on a fellow who built his own "Watson" type- was very impressive. You might also try posting on the Sprint Car thread for a Watson nose.
That car is here in Arizona. I believe it was originally red w/the Olds. It still has the yellow paint but w/a big block Chevy? and 2 4's.
Here's a link : http://www.flickr.com/photos/tom-margie/1439674276/ Mac Miller in Indy may have a nose like that available and I have all the torsion bar stuff.
I've always loved that car the whole build tube frame, torsion bars really well done looks better red
Several years ago a buddy of mine bought new nose and tail sections for a Watson roadster. My fading memory says it was from a place in Indy. Let me know if you can't fine it and I'll check with him on the source.
This is definitely my favorite from Chauvin. I've never met him, but I hear he's a character and one fine fabricator!
macmiller on this site has the molds and has made the noses for for most (if not all) of the Watson replicas built in the last 10 years-including the ones built by Watson.
Here is a screen shot off my computer. I vote for RED! HAMBer dennisk has the Hot Rod magazine with the article on this car, so now I just need to meet up with him and copy it. I'll post it up when I get it.
Looks like you're planning on a '26/'27 roadster body? I like the transition from watson to roadster in your drawing a good bit better than the '23 style!
Mac, your right its a 27 body that I'm planning to use. I should post this in the S-10 swap thread--27 T roadster on an S-10
Speedwagen ... Here's a true screen capture of that flickr image (vice a digital photo of your computer's screen): ... and the entire article from the June 1964 issue of HRM: PM me if you would like me to e-mail you higher resolution scans of the article.
Speedwagen ... Not a problem ... my pleasure ... you owe me nothing except a promise to share pics of your Indy-Inspired '27 T Roadster with us here on the H.A.M.B.!
