Doug, the same blue as 'sugar blues'? Also, was the entire nose white? I've only got one picture of Len and Shorty McAndrews sitting together at Cherry Park and it's hard to tell.

USAC had a rule that no oil or water could be added during a race. A number of ARDC cars were Ford V8-60's aND Dutch (Schaefer) know that the Fords would need one or both during the race, so he petitioned USAC to suspend the rule. ..... USAC declined. Dutch then .. politely & cordially .. then told USAC .. 'OK .. Then I'll have to tell ALL the ARDC cars to load up & go home!!' Since USAC only had a few cars here and the ARDC cars easily made up the majority of the field .... the USAC Officials quickly agreed to suspend the rule!!!!

Green flag pit stops. There was enough pit lane to use the push trucks. Drivers had to get out of the cars for refueling, NJ state police rule!
1961 was blistering hot. |

How is your Mom??? Do you still have your Dad's roadster? I sometimes think of the day at New Egypt, in 1974 I ?THINK?, when you were driving the roadster. You spun, backed into the fence and your helmet came off and rolled down the track. The rest of the field scattered trying to avoid it .... thinking it was your head. Geez, the last I heard anything about you, the late Sonny Sanders told me that you were in Florida selling Legend race car parts & pieces.

tb7118, Ah....Now I know who you are, Tony B Jr. So I have to tell you I never knew your Dad personally but he along with several others was one of my hero's when I was just starting my racing career. Denny Z
