I DO agree on a West Coast get-together someday to make the trek a bit East to prove a few points, though!!!

Dale: I see Greg's been telling stories. His dad has some good stories from the old days. Can't wait to see your Comet done. Looks killer. I'd be up for a West Coast-East Coast get together.
Brian: It was pretty hot in Woodburn. I'll be probably pulling my trans that weekend of the Mission Mega Ford show. Want to get things right before it gets too cold and wet here in the northwest. |

It is an original 4 speed Cyclone except it has had a 351C in it since the 70's. Right now it is running 11.70's and the engine is pretty tired. It is a leaf spring/ladder bar car with 9" M/T's and 5:14 gears. The red Cyclone is dead stock right down to the single exhaust. It is also a 4 speed car. I will try to post some more pictures. Bunch of pix and info about Earle "Safari" Char and the Pflueger Comets at Hawaii Raceway Park in '64-66. Go to "Legends" index at Hawaii Motorbeat.com
There's a 10-page story with B&W and color pix from Char's scrapbook. http://www.hawaiimotorbeat.com/ |

George;did you and Six Gun meet up last weekend? Muttley;that drawing kinda looks like Judd's Comet!!!! I'm headed for a test session this Thursday, meeting up with my clutch guru to try and get the clutch setup right and see if the engine makes any more power now that cylinders should stay round!!! ROY.

TCI continues to test my patience with yet another converter that is ill fitting. This time, they got the hub correct, but now the mounting ring is of the smaller diameter hole pattern. The big flexplate leaves no room for re-drilling. I wish they'd watch what they are doing. The clock continues to click.
But, on a better note, famed SoCal Pinstriper and all around great guy Tom Clark has started to work his artistry and magic. The great thing about Tom is he listens to what you are aiming for, then throws in his many years of experiance in the era. He actually out-did what I wanted. He's just that good in my opinion, and some of you here that may already know him, or know his work would certainly agree with me!! By the way, when he was done, the shop floor was "paved with pure gold"!!!!!

The lettering looks great. The only torque converter problem I have had has been the different splines sizes on C4s. Never heard of a difference between pan fill and case fill. I have both and to check next time the trans comes out.
