This sounds interesting, but it's too far away from me.

'65 Super Cyclone for sale in Atlanta. Price seems reasonable.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/cto/3109493030.html

Ad says the car has a factory fiberglass hood.

Anybody close enough to check it out?

Those of us around here in SoCal have seen the Termite around for the past few years. Its a nice car, with a pedigree.

Speaking of that Wagon, Heres some shots of Eddie Shartman and the wagon at Amarillo Dragstrip in 1964.

I have had the chance to meet and Hang out with Rick Hearn. Rick is one of the Two Thunderbolt drivers from Colorado in 64. There were just the two Thunderbolts that were sent to Colorado. Marv Youngman with a S/S 4 Speed T-Bolt sponsered by Courtesy Ford and Rick Hearn S/SA Automatic T-Bolt that Rick Bought himself. Anyway Rick gave me over 100 photos or so to scan and post. I've been over on the Thunderbolt thread the last few days. But soon I'll be all over the thread as there is a stack ranging from stockers to Fuel Cars. Go over to the Thunderbolt thread and check out some of the photos and History. starting page 158.

These Photos were taken by Ricks mom, Rick was only 16/17 at the Time.Rick said that all the Super Stock guys loved watching Fast Eddie run. With the short wheelbase and 10 inch tires Fast Eddie was always pulling the wheels on the wagon up to ten inches sometimes. Being they were all restricted to the 7 inch tire it was awesome to see back then.

You went South into all that heat on Friday? My daughters had softball up North, nice break from the heat, it was only in the low 80's in Frankenmuth last weekend.

Yes its modified...I couldnt find one higher than stock height. Im lucky to have a friend thats real good with glass.

Thanks Roy I'm happy how trunk is turning out and my friend did a great job on hood. I wanted it longer and wider so it looked more original...

Boss yes was there early Fri. and left after final pass on Sunday. Had Top Eliminator tickets so had a tent and free fluids all week end which made it some better. Al

Al;I wish you were closer! I need a teardrop molded onto my 65 twin scooped hood,the Edelbrock/Glidden intake and Dominator on my 418W are too tall to run a velocity stack or air cleaner!!!Your hood looks great,looks a lot like Ken's [mercuryjunky] hood. ROY.

I was afraid I may not have enough clearence either, Kens looks similar-his is the only one Ive seen that looked OEM so I figure it was stretched and widened also. Its amazing how much work went into bracing before initial cut, then putting the puzzle pieces together. He actually cut a bond on from Crites up to keep form easier. I learned alot from it... Al

Al;
What size rear slicks are you installing on your 64 Comet? When you were over the other day you didn't say. I like the rear inter wheel wells the way you did them. ~~~~~~~~AFX DAVE~~~~~~~~
