Thanks John...killer list.
Here's one guys thoughts on a few of these folks that I have worked with and bought stuff from. Restoration Specialties are great folks...they have a ton of parts that nobody else has. Steele Rubber Products is just simply the best rubber and weatherstripping on the market....nuff said on that one. Mercuryland was kinda frustrating for me...took forever to get seals from them and when I got em they were hard as a rock...then took me forever to get them to take em back. be careful! Bob's Auto Glass...I've bought a windshielf from them, and really liked them a lot! Didn't buy rubber from them, cuz I found out that they buy their stuff from Steele and then resell it, but they don't guarantee it the way the original folks do...so, I played it safe and bought the gasket from Steele (again....love those guys!) don't really know the other folks...anyone else? Again...thanks John...great work...much appreciated. |

This is a great list. I have been searching and searching for some sheet metal parts and a few other odds and ins, and the folks that make stuff for the 49-51 mercs are few and far between, which is really surprising in itself. Please update the list as you find things. Thanks John!

http://www.papkeent.com/ Specializes in 49 -51 Mercs. Has a ton of parts but his prices are high. He also doesn't like to ship large items.

I emailed Mike and this is what he sent in return: "yes, i have all the merc parts, floors inners and outers, i sell them on ebay and direct at 802 948 2011, Mike" He has pics of the rockers on epay. Hope that helps but they are definately one of the best rockers (that I have seen) out there for mercs. |

I used to deal with a company in Tennessee called Mercury Research Company. They were doing business by snail-mail & telephone only. Does anyone know if they still exist?
They were geared toward restoration and had a lot of soft and hard chassis parts for the 49 thru 51s. Updated 8/7/2011: Found out the original owner died and his son was left with the parts. The son was evidently not a car person and it is unknown whether he still has the parts stored or whether he has sold them. Last rumor was that he still had them stored in Memphis.
