I am in the process of a 28 model a sedan build. I have read many posts on A's on 32 rails. I have learned that the 28/29 sedan body is wider than the 28/29 roadster and may fit an unmolested 32 rail. Does anyone have pictures of the Fenderless, NON Channeled 28 or 29 sedan on UN PINCHED and UN narrowed 32 rails? Your help would be gratly appreciated. lets see em. Coupes would be welcome also. Thanks!
a sedan body and roadster body are he same width up front, so i think you would want to at least pinch the rails
the roadsters and sedans are dimensionally the same up front. you will want to get a set of pinched rails, or pinch them yourself if you want it to look right. i got a '30 sedan and had to get pinched rails for it, so i know you will want to for a '29. mine are from kiwi konnection, i am very happy with them and would absolutely suggest working with them. -drZ
You'll run into some problems in the rear also. Nothing that will stop you. The frame kick up enters the body in the back seat area.
contact grits (That's his HAMB id, real name is Gary) he is building an A with a '32 frame right now and has just test mounted his body, engine and axles to the frame, he should have some good insights.

I think I just fell in love, that is one of the coolest A sedans that I have seen! Is that roof hand fabbed or did they make a model A with that roof? I forget what they are called.
Mine, as bought. Now in lots of bits as I want to pinch the frame a little more and do an 1" channel.
Is this green one pinched at all now? If so how much currently? It looks so good I would not have even touched it.
The one in my thread below has a pinched frame and new reworked subrails in the back to compensate for the frame kick up.
the gold sedan was built by mark riojas he built the car in 3 months time !since then he has built a killer coupe and working on one of the most crazy 50 nash wagons you have seen also a lill some thing for me is in the works hope to have 3 to 4 cars that he has built in austin!!
so how much more wider is the sedan versus the roadster? and where? i keep looking at the bottom side of my body to see where/how exactly the body is going to sit on the frame. the subrail is basically a channel so do people set the frame right into the open area or do they space it out some how? bump for more info/pics.
X2! I am the process of gathering parts and ideas for a '28 sedan on '32 rails and can only hope it turns out half as good. Great job. Is there a build thread on this car?
