Now that i got rid of a couple things i have a little room in the shop. No one bought my 36 Dodge truck cab so i think i will chop it up into a three window coupe. Day's of planning, 30 minutes of chopping...............no going back.
The roof needs to go down 3" ,rear panel back about 6",rear window moved down to style line and of course fab the whole tail section. These are the first cuts with more to follow. Slow and steady. Should make good yard art. Ray

This should be interesting....I have a couple of 33-34 Dodge cabs that I have pondered this conversion myself. I can't wait to see the outcome!
I always have wanted a 3w but can't afford one....

Poor pictures that have been posted plenty of times before, but if you look closely you can see that this is an American Austin pickup cab brazed to some trunk. I bought this thing on the Austin frame with the Austin running gear in '58 or '9. It had the trunk then. The guy either was going to or had run the thing with a Harly 45 although there was no engine or trans in it when I got it. I removed the body and took the rest to the dump. I could dig up some build pics if anybody wanted to see them. Pretty crude and still small pictures.

So i did a little more today. I'm roughing it in and then i will sit and stare at it for a while.
I removed the rear style line and droped the rear cab down 3" and srewed it back in. Did a regular 3" chop on the posts and added a 5" filler piece for the coupe look.
I'm going for like a 33 chrysler coupe look which is a little boxy on the back. I don't want it to look like a 5w with the window filled in but it's hard to tell at this stage.
Next i will hang the doors and make a carboard tail to see what the thing may look like. I have a buddy with a glass 32 roadster that i will trace the rear from and start there. My gut say's start welding!!!!! but I wont. Ray

.Don't take this the wrong way,,but I think it might look a little better if the back of the roof was leaned ahead a little so its not so straight up...Mid 30s cars have a bit of slope on the back of the roof and it will make it more like a coupe...just a thought...Its a kick ass start so far though...keep us updated

You guy's are right my 36 Plymouth was leaned back and was a rounder swoopy car in general. the truck cab looks more antique compared to the cars and that is why i'm thinking more like this 32 Plymouth....Ray
