working on a '29 ford roadster pickup project. my buddy has been spectacular in helping me learn all there is to know about building a car.
i have never had any previous experience in any of this a couple months ago. i picked up welding very quickly as well as everything else.
    enjoy the progression.
and hope to see it in WA car shows by this summer!!

cutting crossmember to make rear motor mount brackets. used band-saw to cut out. it worked out perfect for us to use the extra scrap from the model A crossmember..fit like a glove.

    1.1.09
we pulled the mount brackets by using the vice-grip and pulling the ends carefully in several spots to make the rear mount fit in the bracket. little back and forth, and good as gold.

I'm assuming that your using a 235 motor, was the only modification needed to mate that tranny the use of the S-10 clutch disc? Nice work and thanks for posting.

Cool rpu, your really moving on it, it's cool to see you using an inline, loved the 235 in my old '53.

what are the plans for paint/wheels? (sorry if you mentioned them already, I may have missed it)

Perhaps I'll get to see it in person when we come down for hotrod-o-rama again.

P.S: don't let the bandsaw smell your fear....

yes, the engine is a 235.
the plan for this year is to get it on the road by summer, driving, for the Billetproof show.
paint it next winter. i want to paint it a super light, pastel green.
as far as the wheels go...not sure yet. we'll see what happens.

i'll be at hotrod-o-rama again this year. you can count on it!

Wow, you are making good progress.
When you use the bandsaw, You should adjust the little guide thing so its just a little more than you are cutting. like maybe 1/2 more? that way there is less flexing of the blade and less chance of accidents

EDIT: I guess we were both typing the same thing!

Yep, the fellas are right. With that much blade exposed it'll flex/twist a ton, and once it binds it freaks you out a bit:eek:

Adjust the guide down as mentioned, & you'll be good to go. Your rpu looks great! You are really making a ton of progress too, at this rate you'll be driving it next week.

Keep it up, you should be proud!

    Dan

  30. Awesome! I really like your build so far. Like somebody already said, it's really cool to see a girl building a hot rod! Keep at it and keep us posted and remember, safety first.
