The 1935 Gene Winfield shop truck has been found and it is here at it's new home in Texas.
Gary Hatfield of Hatfield Restorations is now the trucks new care taker. The custom pickup will be recieving a complete, detailed, historic restoration back to the way Gene first built it. The old truck is in very good shape considering how long it has been stored outside and for the fact that is has survived through 2 floods. It even has the original Tommy the Greek pinstripping on the dash. It is only missing the engine and transmission. Even the original dropped axle done by Gene himself is still there. Also the window stickers are still there from when Gene had the truck. More to come later. I will be posting updates on the restoration. I am very proud to be a part of the team that will be restoring this truck. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow, that is a cool truck and looks like it hit some hard times for sure, but is still in pretty decent shape and a lot of the critical stuff is still there. Good luck with that!

I hope that the dash with the Tommy the Greek striping will be saved, somehow.
What a great thrill to have found this truck. I am sure Gene will be pleased. |
