Gotta go with Neikamp, Flynt one or two. Construction was probably better on the
Neikamp car. Two I thought might get mentioned, Bud Bryan and the Dick Courtney 29's. Can anybody post pic of a Courtney 29? |

Thats tough if you are limiting it to three
Osgood ![]() Fitzgerald (not my photo, but thanks to whoever took it) ![]() The third is tough... ![]() ...but the Berardini Bros. car is pretty awesome, it would be a toss up between this the Spencer car, Don Waite's '27 T (can't find a pic sorry), Lentz's Golden Rod ![]() Damn, just too many cool ones.

While this is a fun topic.....the truth is, if money really was NO object, I personally wouldn't want ANY of the cars listed......I'd have the money to build my own, rather than own someone else's vision. Plus more than just a measily 3 car garage...hahaha!
IF, and that's a big if, I were to own any of the roadsters mentioned, I'd still HAVE to make changes to 'em to suit my tastes.....

Great thread and lots of worthy choices. Ryan's and Metalshapes' lists both resonate for me, but mine is slightly different. 3 classic hot rods, each the best in its distinctive style:
1. Spencer's deuce, for all the obvious reasons: ![]() 2. Dick Williams' '53 AMBR T, with its incredible workmanship. This belongs to Blackie Gejeian now, and really deserves to be restored to its original color & wheels, as shown here: ![]() 3. Ivo's T. A trend setter, beautifully detailed, and faster'n shit:

aye!
The Ivo T Blackie's Shishkabob special and Paul FitzGerald's Roadster are all great choices, but My first 3 are still near and dear to my heart. Ive seen all cars in person (except Blackies roadster) and have been in awe each and EVERY time! but as soon as I saw this thread, I knew what my choices were. HOWEVER!!!!!!! The 37 shell on Fitzy's car was/is TASTY as hell along with the nerfs/handmade "bumpers" in front and back, also.....when I saw the car for the first time, I was in awe of the steering wheel. Def. some custom touches. I have the old fotomat pics I took years ago, Other wise, Id post...... ______________________________________ This list should have had a FIVE car garage, but beggars cant be choosers!!!!! |

For me, a lot of those cars are too much show cars. The green Ricky Nelson roadster was my favorite car when I was 12, but I saw it recently and it looks like the first thing on the road to Boydsters and Foosemobiles. Even the Tommy Ivo T (another grade school favorite of mine) as fast as it was, is too much like that to make my top 3.
I'd take the Edelbrock 32, the Eliminator (with the nailhead it once had), and a track nose model A, maybe the Flynt car or one with an unusual motor. Or maybe that model A with the blown Cord motor. Or maybe another deuce with an Oldsmobile or Cadillac. It just too hard to pick the third one. Can I have 7? hans |
