i'm finding that out real quick.

Metalshapes, how did you slam it? do you have a MII kit on your truck?

Socal, thanks for the pics. they look really good. the red and white two tone is really cool looking. to bad it looks like a 4x4. it needs to be lowered some.

  11. Wow!
That red truck is drop dead georgous!

I have a '57 that I bought... I have some big plans for it, but work on it has to wait for some other things to get done first.

Here's some more you may have already seen...

    Sam,
i haven't seen those pics before of the green truck. if you have more pics please post them. i just need some more ideas. i've never worked on these trucks before. how do you lower them? the front has a straight axle and maybe a get a flip kit for the back, or???

i will be in Campbell tomorrow picking up my 58 F100. its the one A32flathead posted up top.

No, I used a Camaro Clip.
You could do that, or you can use a Dakota Kit from ElPolacko, they are really nice.
I made a 8 1/2" kickup in the rear of the Frame, and I am using 1/2 ton Chevy Rear springs and Brackets.
I had to make a Driveshaft Tunnel in the Cab and the bed, and a raised part in the middle to clear the Axle, I had to cut the inner fenders out as well.
The ride height is at about 5" of clearence between the ground and the Rocker panel, with very little rake in it.
No Bags, but it will get some Helper Bags in the Rear for Hauling and Towing.

    Alex, that truck is cooool!
Sam, is that the truck that has the straight axle and the heavily Z'd framerails? That truck looks cool. Saw it at the Roadster show a while back and the floor of the cab has had some SERIOUS surgery done to it.

  17. Yea, that's the one... it's owned by Skratch.

I found that mid 60's Chevy pickup frames are the SAME width as these F-100's... So I'm going to splice one of those front frames on to mine just under the cab. You could do an entire frame swap... but the rear of the Chevy Frame kicks up in the rear a bit much... but if you want to go low, that might be the thing to do.

    Sam.

I should take some more pics of mine.
In most of the pics I have of it, it is in the background of another Car.
But I have plans for some pretty wild Body Modifications, and I will take plenty of pictures then...

Check out the '48-'60 forum on www.ford-trucks.com, there has been tons of discussion of different suspension swaps, lowering methods, etc. Great site, lots of knowledgeable people there.

Here's a pic of my '59. It ain't modified. YET.

Thats my stock 1960 before I decided to restore it [IMG] That green truck is so bitchn' he's got a 58-60 t-bird dash in it and its a sick sick truck!

If you just want to lower yours for cheap and don't care about steering or ride quality, have Steve drop the axle for you. Maybe OGNC will post in on his ole' 60 not sure if he or killer did the drop on it, but it sat low even before the ifs!

You can buy mono's for upfront from CPP but I have heard mixed oponion's on them. If you post some larger pics of you bigwindow, I'll gladly do a few photoshops for you. -The Catholic
