I will post some pictures up of my 68 Lincoln. All original 72,000 original miles on the 462ci (yes that is a 462 not 460) everything works but A/C, interior looks like new still, original wheels on white walls, lowered, silver with black vinyl top (soon to be stripped and painted black top as to not cause rust problems.
Give me a day or two and I will post it. It will most likely stay the way it looks in stock form besides an all gloss black paint job and new white wall tires.

Just know that you are stuck using the continental front wheel drive trans, the Continentals got a special block, only that trans works.

I am also looking for Lincon speed equipment-very hard to find.Got a mallory dual point off Ebay about 2 years ago.I'm planning on using a 53 317 in a 33 Ford "rat' roadster project. The really hard part is making it a stick.I found a 57 Merc 368 turnpike cruiser engine that had been in a 54 FordCOE truck & will use the bell housing&fly wheel from it with an adapter plate to a T86 3spd.Look to an upcoming issue of Hot Rod Deluxe for an article on the lincoln yblocks.

Here is my '54 4 door. I pulled the 317 y-block and dropped in a 302 w/fuel injection from a '89 Mark VII and AOD trans. I know its not a traditional motor but the whole drive train cost me $400!! And it is a bit on the different side of things. I hope to put bags under it and make my own rack and pinion steering for it this winter.

before and after pics

Conder what size wheels are you running on that thing? Looks nice and I like the torque thrust style. I was thinking about something like that just not THAT big. I will keep the stock wheels most likely but one thing that is making me want to change my mind is the skinny tires that will only fit on the stock wheels, I'd like to get wide tires out back and a little bit wider up front too. Stocks wont allow that.

The big wheels are KMC 820s, 22x10ish. The Steelies are 15x7s. At this stage the owner hasn't decided which way to go on wheels. I dig the 820s, although I would prefer a skinnier spoke. Back when we bought the wheels for the car, 22's were the biggest available and KMC had the only good looking 22 at the time.

Running wheels this big with the stock suspension required minor surgery inside the rear wheelwells and removal of the front inner fender lip, along with a new support. You also have to pop it to full height in front to parallel park.

On this car there isn't a budget for trick frame work. We may go Bellflower style with 15's or run some nice 20" Americans if the owner gets tired of compensating for those fat ass 22s. As a side note: when I do 4-doors I run the same size wheels all around. It just seems like the right thing to do aesthetically, especially on this Lincoln. Only my opinion. Hope that helps, good luck with yours!

I'm guessing it was an ambulance or a hearse at one time and whoever did it up just did it as a wagon without all the lights and landau bars and shit.

Looks fantastic, they should have made them like that at the factory. The rear quarter windows fit so nice, they may have been from a 4 door hardtop.

Thanks Conder, the car looks great. I am thinking about either 18's or 20 inch Coy's. Grey center, chrome lip. All depends. It's all up in the air though. As for same width tire all around, your probably right on that. I do know the front will need a little trim but not much and the rear stock exhaust location is in the way where the exhaust comes out at the back corners near the bumper, some of the pipe is in the wheel well so that will get rerouted if I go this route. Anyways, keep the Lincolns comming!

I have a customer that had one. He gave it to his son and the kid not knowing what he had sold it for a couple grand. What a shame.

This is no need to jump all over Bob, but he has a right to jump all over you. When you joined up here did you read the rules about this forum and what we like here. Obviuosly you havent because you asked if you could post pics of a roadrunner. I can appreciate you trying to squeeze horsepower out of a mk8 and be different but please not on this forum.

Im not jumping all over him I am being Adult and realistic.

If someone didn't know like me then just say it nice don't be all nasty with the "Get Out" attitude, just be nice.

It isn't hard to be nice.

I am 40 years old and I am into Old School stuff as well as new stuff and like them both equally.

I was told nicely in another thread about the specifics and read the rules and now I understand and LIKE it even more here.

So everyone just relax and be nice not nasty first, that's all I am asking.

I have a 58' Beetle too at least I have something to contribute to the board with.

...Bernardarama I actually shot myself in the foot with the 6x2's setup on the Olds intake....had it all packed away tidy for a long time.....pancaked the hood without thinking (like a dumbass)....and guess what -the 6x2's didn't fit anymore (under hood height). Had the intake, carbs and linkage for sale in the HAMB classifieds for a while but sold them locally...sad but true.....still beating myself up on that one....

Found this.

Bob and I posted positively in that thread as well has 9 pages of others. What would be the difference if I posted Our Family Bug up here?

HAHA Bad Bob gets caught. Those threads are always borderline so you have to be careful. Lots of guys for them and lots don't think they belong. You will definitely get some positive posts but don'y be too upset if guys come down hard on you because some might. Just giving you a heads up.

There's two BADASS VW gasser builds on here. Algon and UncleScooby. Not your typical VW's... I don't hide my love for VW's. Was a VW mechanic for many years. LONG before the HAMB existed...

This is Tom Culbertson's, (my 'second dad's') 1956 Premier. The biggest thing that's done to it is the mild chop that many people don't notice. its been done for about five years now and its his everyday driver.

Working on this one now. 1948 Continental. First step is a 351 Windsor C6 & a narrow 9" with a 5X5.5 BP. Stock steering is great, but I will be upgrading the brakes.

I'm going to get it running then perform the body mod's. This is the height it sits at stock with some lower profile tires.

The car is a Rikster design. 4" chop with both front & rear pillars slanted, removing the 1/4 windows & pie cutting the trunk area. I'm going to use some other type of taillights. The Continental kit will be sloped more than stock as well. I don't think that there is any need to change the front end.

That 48 Continental is very nice. I'd like to have something like that one day. As for ONEBADMK8, sure he doesnt have a old Lincoln and owns a VW that most here dont like but it doesn't mean you need to put him down. IMO it looks like he has a lot of knowledge on motors/mechanics and even body work from what I have seen in the past. Instead of bashing him and possibly making him leave, PM him or something, warn him about posting that stuff on here even if he was supposed to read the rules and let it be. We can probably learn something from him, you never know. Now back to the pictures of lincolns!

Is that one of your first chops you have done or one of many? Looks great to me.

Believe it or not, it is a first chop by a rank, unskilled amateur. I got a bunch of guys together for the initial cutting and tacking (in 1 day). I then bought a mig welder and started learning. Then I essentially had to reorient everything like the roof pieces, A/B/C pillars, with a million relief cuts with a sawzall (no air in my garage). Here are a few pics along the way.....
This is what I started with before the chop....

This what I brought home after the chop....

..the following were some of the huge challenges for an amateur working alone....

..this is just fiberglass on the top so far....filler to follow......

...hope this helps to show the stages of reconstruction for others......

Don't use fiberglass!!! I would scrape all that off before you go any furthur. Its going to crack the minute the roof flexes the smallest amount. Either get the metal closer or just use filler.

FWIW, that looks great and from what I understand, that is one hard chop! Espeically for a first timer. You've got more balls than me!

Phil's wagon is badass. He has some reeeeeaally nice cars. I was stunned the first time I saw it. I can't remember what I was buying from him but I walked into some old warehouse right in the middle of downtown Indy and there are all of these cars...caddy wagon, lincoln wagon, lincoln convertible, lincoln pickup, etc... all VERY nice. The 56 lincolns that gave their lives for this wagon were there too. He literally GAVE them to me and I gave them to a friend here locally. I also got some really decent 59 and 60 lincolns from him and one of them went on to become the ass end of Plowboy's SeaHag.

I haven't seen him in a while but Phil was a cool guy with neat toys. Kind of a hidden secret in Indy. He said purists got really pissed about the wagon. The shop that built that thing did an amazing job. Everything was dead nuts right on it. You'd swear it was from the factory. I don't think I'd want to see the bill on that thing.

Here's a few. The lincoln cosmo race car was at turner's in fresno. The black 56 premiere is my old car taken at Paso. My friend's blue 49 cosmo in the background. The lincoln on the strip belongs to Rick Martin, the lincoln y guru. the hilborn injected 368 is in the mermaid clone. and then just some randon shots to keep it real. who doesn't love a lincoln funny car???

Here's my 53 Lincoln Capri. Just started sanding into it to paint it. Look out for that! Hopefully I'll have a new red paint job with black roof with red flake. Or maybe silver roof with multiple panels. We'll see. When I paint a roof, I usually never know how its gonna come out til I start masking and spraying

That has to be one of the most beautiful pink cars ever to grace our planet, and I know for a fact that my wife would leave me in one second flat for the chance to own it!

That pink Lincoln is for sure cool. I wouldn't mind if mine was Teaberry.

Anyone ever graft a '59 grill with headlights into a early 50s model?

RE: post #14 I wish people would take the time to identify CORRECTLY when they post!!! pic.#3 is a 1954/ pic.#5 is a 1954/ pic.#6 is a 1953 Yes. I do own a 1952 & a 1953 & have since 1963, even if I haven't run either of them for several years due to "domestic complications"; I feel it's important to maintain 'accuracy-in-labeling' in our posts, if only others will be able to properly I.D. future 'Barn-Finds', no matter what 'brand'.
