  7. Looks like this guy is going in a much more traditional direction than the last customer ride I saw. I like how you reinforced the rails without boxing them. Top notch work as usual.

  8. You snuck the blown flathead in while I was typing, outstanding! 5 stars.

  10. What's up with the pieces in the top photos? I love the wishbone mounts.

  11. Wow Danny!!! I don't even know what to say anymore. Your threads and builds are more and more mind blowing every time you post. Thanks for posting!

  12. The fabrication was excellent on the other car, as well. Just a little too modern in customer's choice of engine, etc.

Very nice work!! Are you comfortable with wishbone/clearance both front and rear? I had to relieve the bottom frame flange where the rear wishbone crossed under the frame. Of course I was working hard to set the rear down a bit. Certainly not meant as a criticism just a personal"rat's!" from my last hiboy build. OOPS!! If I'd looked closer I'd have seen you have jogged the wishbone over to take care of the problem. Sorry.

there is more than it looks.i don't have all of the spring leaves in the pictures.during the design process i moved the axles in their arcs and i don't see any problems.

thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Always ahead of the curve. I love the OEM workmanship look. This will be much copied in the months ahead. The inner channel is a great idea and I presume as strong. We used this method in big trucks at GM and it worked great.

Top notch workmanship, design and engineering we come to expect from your shop. Thanks for sharing the chassis build.

Looks very nice! I was thinking about your dad's roadster last night. Is it on the road yet? I love that car....

  19. wow...impressive as always, alot of labour involve I imagine when compared with a common aftermarket chassis, but certainly worth the effort, job well done.

Please excuse my ignorance, what was the speedway bellhousing being used, any more photo's of that engine?

    Cheers, and keep building,

the bellhousing is an adaptor to go from a flathead to a chevy bolt pattern transmission.let me know pictures you would like and i'll try.

i took a pair of rails and cut them down the middle, removing a 1/4" of metal.in doing that i was able to fit them inside the outer frame rails.after that was done i fitted them to the x-member.the end result is a frame that is strong and looks like ford did it.

i had not seen it done ether,so i did it.

Very nice...as usual. I love the drop out trans crossmember. Some thinking went into that one! The rear radius rods and torque arm look very similar to what I did.

    Thanks for sharing.

I like your double frame boxing plates. Kinda like Ford did it starting in '33 and going all the way to '48. Also the neat additions that look like the factory would/should have done them is really trick. Hope you keep posting on this build like you've done in the past.
