Just bought the first season of the Munsters on DVD. (well recommended by the way)
There is an early episode (Rock a bye Munster) where Lily decides to buy Herman a second car. She goes to a dealer and looks at a T-Bucket and a hearse. she asks for the dealer to arrange to build a cross between the two, resulting in the Munster coach.
    Here is the T.

My question is, is this a well known "movie" car? I looked at the Ivo and Grabowski T's and they look different, Does anyone know who owned the T shown?

For 795, you could have this bad ass little T, and Yvonne DiCarlo! WOW! I'll take it!

I wish I knew who built that T, but I can't help ya. It may have been one that Barris threw together for the show, then stripped for parts later. ???

  9. I saw that episode a couple of years ago, it's a neat looking little car. I gotta look for that set of DVD's Wasn't Gradowsky credited in some of the episodes of that show? Seems like he drove a hearse a couple of times or something.

I have to agree. Hot Rod Herman insists.

  10. 795...sold...and a Goth chick...err Yvonne DeCarlo...to ride shotgun...not a bad deal in this or any other century...I need to get that box set

Looks like it was good enough to get a magazine feature, I'm sure someone will thumb through some old issues and ID the owner.

Nice car. Be neat if it popped up out of nowhere, been stored for 40 years. Wish I knew something about it.

Looks like it's this car, from a color feature in Hot Rod in the mid-60s.

I'll see if I can find the article and post more info if I find it.

I was thinking that it was the car from the movie "The Lively Set" but that one had 2 deuces. Always crack up when it get to the part where the girl pours a cup of root beer in the tank. The pulls the fuel line off to drain it. Like the rootbeer didn't mix with the gas.

I agree, note the wood top header bow that has been fitted all around the outside of the top iron. T buckets weren't cookie cutters in the old days, they all had ID clues. I know that was a Hot Rod feature car, bet it had a unique rear window that is blocked by that price sign on the first shot.

Headlights, axle, spindle mounts, headers, air cleaner, valve covers and radiator hose are the same. Looks like you got it!

  28. It doesn't mix... gas is lighter than water (Rootbeer) and settles to the bottom of the tank usually where the pickup or drain is located.

I always drain water from fuel tanks of aircraft before I fly them.

I've also had to replace Oil pans on cars that sat a long time and one I replaced sat indoors in the Arizona Desert because water condensation gathered below the oil and rusted the oil pan out! (Surprised me too...!!!!)
