Alright guys I know I'm not the only one with a blown Engine. I didn't really blow it, the Bitch decided to drop a valve. It took #1 piston with it and Fu**ked up the rod and camshaft.
I rebuilt this Ford 272 short Block(Y BLOCK), and didn't rebuild the heads.I just lapped the vavles and put new guides in. I was going to put a set of better heads on it in a few weeks, well it came back to bite me in the ass as it dropped a valve.

Here's some pictures, of the remains. If you look closely you can see the head in the backround missing a valve.

Block is down at the machine shop getting bored and honed, oh well it gives me an excuse to put a lumpy cam in it now....

  14. Not as drastic as some in my younger days. But, who thought of photographing them then?

This is out of my 72 TA, Bought it with a "Rebuilt" Motor. Ran Ok, but always had a timing problem, so I took out the Unitized Distributor and put in a pertronix, still no change. Drove it for several years, but never really raced it, just a driver so I never really dug into it. One day a buddy was riding with me and said "Lets see what its got!" I told him the old girl was tired, so I just shifted the M22 at the normal 2500, 1st to 2nd. Chirped the tires, but it killed the motor. When I tore it down, all the head bolts under the valve covers had hardware store lock washers, Every one was hand tight. The Cylinder had been sucking water for years. She dropped both skirts and wedged in! Piston in the intake under the carb, Exhaust manifolds, Lifter Valley, and chunks in the pan. Split the Cylinder in 3 spots. Just lucky that the HO heads were OK and that the block was not original anyway.

  29. Ok here is the story with this. I built this engine for a dirt car. The rotating assembly had to be externaly balanced. So I take the time to make a counterweighted flywheel and get this thing runnin smooth as silk. The cat that owns the car picks up the engine and has his help install it in the car. Little did I know the num-nuts fucktards would bolt the flex-plate on backwards, hell the crank even had a dowel pin in it!! It had to be shakin like a dog shittin peach seeds. Well before the night was over the 3 front mains broke out of the block from the vibrating. When the front main came sailing out of the block it broke off the fuel pump and the game was finally over. So when the cat that owned the engine brought it back to me he was more upset about the new fuel pump getting broke than the entire engine being blown to shit >>>>.
