we got the old girl out of the shop and she's ready for her first flogging. Old gasser from the day that was on the street for many years. With the help of Hotrod Rice, Fast Mike and Quick Nick and a bunch of $$$ we brought her back to her glory. Tried as best we could to keep it old school. 468 with blower, fenderwells, drilled frame, ladder bars, etc. Tonight she meets the public and in a couple of weeks, it's off to the Time Machine Nationals at Great Lakes Dragaway, Union Grove, WI. BEEEE THERE!

  10. My first real race car was a '56 2-door. I've always had a soft spot for the unloved middle child of the tri-fives. Guess you could have made it more period correct with a different blower/carb setup.

Love the car, would never put down someones ride, but the blowers gotta go. 2 fours would be more period correct. Need at least a 471 for the blower if used.

Thank you for sharing your car. I love it. I hope you don't mind me showing it to some of my Friends.
The one car that I remember from when I was a kid was a 57 Chevy that was daily driven and high like that. It really fucked me up but in a good way.
    Later Josh.

Yep, it is what was called a Street Freak in the day. Doesn't in any diminish anything though. Very cool.

Guy two doors up from me in the mid-70's had a green and white one almost exactly like that.

    Very cool.

  21. That is way cool, how far do you see out over the front on that thing?

  22. I dig it, have fun...

Great looking car and stance but those front wheels have to go. They don;t "fit" the car. Need to pick up some skinny slots.

The old girl was the hit of the cruise night in Fort Atkinson. 350 cars. Stood next to three of my other fast cars and nobody looked at them. I agree with the front wheels, but it all takes time. I disagree with the blower, dual quad, bigger blower discussion. This car is made to be a daily driver (street freak, if you prefer) and any more that 6-8 psi boost wouldn't work. It's got awesome torque that wants to pull the front end, starts at the touch of the key and does it all on pump gas. Will keep you posted with strip performance.

Thanks for all the positive feedback and suggestions. I appreciate your input.

The first car I can remember our family having was a red and white '56 210 two door hardtop. As we grew, it was replaced with a '58 wagon.
Street freak or gasser, who cares? I love it!
