Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by englishrodder, Aug 16, 2008.

  1. Hi All,

Didnt want to add these onto the old progress thread as that was on the old message board. so here are some of the latest update.

    Quick re-cap for some background.
This is an original 60's East coast car from Alabama, was parked in 64 due to a spun main bearing.

When its done its going to be Tangerine Flake, silver chassis and engine, Has a 52 Caddy 331, Muncie 4 Speed, 8" rear, narrowed 51 Pontiac dash.....And EVERYTHING is getting dropped in the chrome bath, all axles, backing plates, prop etc

My new grill, Rad and lights mounted on new Headlight/shock mount combos

    Looking great. Excellent progress.

  5. Very well thought out,it'll be a great one when it's done.:D

  6. I really like the motor mounts and the front headlight stands with the integral upper shock mounts. Nicely thought out. Elegant solutions, no matter how difficult to execute, are almost always simple in concept.

  16. Its a coming, its a coming!
Body will come off in about 2 weeks and then its a few additional shots of primer, fix a few of the small dings and imperfections.

    Then tangerine FLAKE it is!

I'm not normally into these styles of car, except very few trucks, but this caught my eye. It's a beauty.

great progress! Your project is looking very good, and looks like it will be on the road soon. I have got to get back on my own channeled 33 five window with Cadillac power, your photos are an inspiration!

  22. Well its been a while, so thought I would update a bit

Rear end all chromed and waiting to go in
    [IMG]

Bit of a change in colour, the tangerine flake just didnt look right.
So its red glowble over maroon base
    [IMG]

Starting to fit up the front end
    [IMG]

Rear end all fitted up now
    [IMG]

Body painted, 2 coats of base, 3x Glowble flake and 4 clear, its going to need at least another 4-6 coats of clear yet!

(The paint looks a bit pink in the photo, but its actually really dark)

Engine and box now in, plus some of the chrome on :)

    Hope you like!
Engine may get fired up very soon.....
