    That's a Barris, not a Jetson.

    The Jetsons were cartoons...

Does anyone have some good documentation about the feud between the X PAC 400 and ROTAR? And the resulting injuries?

Didn't George build the Jetson's car, the Flintsone's car and later Marge Simpsons car?

The Barris car was stolen from storage in an airplane hanger. The Roth car blew a rotor at Cobo hall basement during an Autorama. Hurt several people.
Moriarity restored Rotar and sold it. It came up on ebay years later. It is now if I remember correctly in the Galpin Ford collection.

Tom, is/was "TOMM studios" your air brush t shirt business? That's an interesting photo. What's the story behind the xpac being towed?

Yes, it was, Mike. I still airbrush, but it's at the mall, not car shows these days. That hearse was my workhorse for hauling around the car show booth. I must have been pulling it across Kansas City that day for Ray Farhner. He had leased it from Barris to use as a feature in the car show circuit that he produced. They had picked it up in detroit and the "car" was too wide to fit between the trailer tires, so they rigged a 2 X 4 platform. Then they just flew the car onto the platform......well, OK, four guys lifted it on!!

Ford Styling Studio was a little ahead of The Jetsons....this was their concept sketch from 1954.
