I went over to Lincoln, Ne, yesterday with a few friends to check out the Hot Rod Power Tour. We didn't quite know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by some of the cars that we saw.

Here are a few pics that I took before the camera batteries died....
    Enjoy!

(didn't take a pic of the whole car - it is owned by Pat Fleischman, from Texas)

Flowmaster's really cool 1961 Ford 2 dr. wagon, Y-block powered, too!

The blue '63-1/2 is HAMB member "str8enough" - He just got it back on the road, after rebuilding the 390 and T-10. Very nice car with a great stance!

HAMB Member, Jess' '33 Ford 5-window coupe. She's very excited to have it on the road and has been driving it quite a bit. They planned on taking it on today's leg of the Power Tour to Ames, IA. Hope they made it there safe! (heard there was a bunch more rain)

    Well, that's about all!....

We were fortunate enough to tour the Speedway Museum after checking out the cars at the State Fairgrounds. That place always amazes me. They are always adding items to it. If you ever get a chance to take a tour, you must go!

Thanks for the pics. I heard an interview on XM radio yesterday. I think it was the 60s channel.

I work in Ames and went to take a look this afternoon. I was really surprised at the number of cars there. I'm guessing over 1000? Most were 60's and 70's, but there where a few older cars there. Since I also dig some of the "mullet" era cars but never go to shows where they are allowed, it was a good event for me to check out.

And yes, there was quite a bit of rain this morning.

  9. Very cool pics. I'm really impressed with the old iron. Dude try the lithium batts for the camera a bit pricey but they last forever>>>>.

Yeah, I was guessing around 1,000 "long haulers" and probably an extra 500 showed up in Lincoln. Funny, we were talking about the large number of "mullet" cars and spotted a few mullets to go with them. :D How 'bout the Griswold family truckster!? That was cool, in it's own way...

Thanks for sharing your photos. Had plans to go on the Tour this year, but the stars did not align . Maybe next year.

I saw that too and got a chuckle. For being a "joke" it actually was done very well. I immediately started singing "Holiday road" in my head when I saw it.

Did you see the yellow 80's econo-box with the model A fenders molded to the outside like fender flares? I couldn't tell if that guy actually thought it was cool or if he was intentionally being stupid.

I really like that '32 Cabriolet, it looks like a road warrior! Nice to Jess' coupe out and about. It would appear there are more and more traditional cars going on the Power Tour every year.

    Thanks for the re-cap :D

That Cabriolet is definetly a true road warrior. Was originaly built back in the day and is now owned by a guy here in Omaha who just freshen'd it up a bit, thank god it got into the right hands and not someone that would have turned it into a billit monstrosity. He drives it everywhere, I see him all the time plugging away down the highway or interstate with a big smile on his face,
Nice pic's Malcolm, thanks for for putting this up, sorry I couldn't make it with you guys, damn work got in the way. See Ya, Gary

Great pics, me and the "old lady" had a great time. Wish we would have done some stops with the tour. It was nice that the Galaxie actually made to Lincoln this time!

I caught it in Springfield MO, and too was suprised. there had to be nearly 2500-3000 cars there. I had the only Willys, Hot Rod TV shot video, and sevral photographers took pics of it. I missed the E85 coupe, I really wanted to see that, and Project X was cool to see, but of course I liked it's 80's era build the best. Later, Rusty.

We went down and met them between springfield and Topeka, the rain was so bad here that we didn't want to leave in the rain earlier. Stayed in Topeka and came to Lincoln then went home .first long trip with the car.

My head and face is so sunburned I look like a Circus clown, wait I always look like a Circus clown . Nevermind!

    Malcolm,
Thanks for the pictures. They're great! I kinda like the wheels on the E85 Coupe. Do you or anyone know who makes them? They are kinda like the Salt Flat Specials made by American Racing, but not quite. Anybody know?
