Well, here it is. Video to follow. Think the next job is to shorten that side pipe a little and drop a tyre size on the back end.

Liking the engine bay a lot there, Mark, the cloth covered wiring loom is a very nice touch.
I wouldn't worry about the pipe and the tyres, just get some miles logged. The slightly agricultural tyres go along with the farm fresh look the truck has. Well done getting it back together, I know it hasn't been easy. Mart.

Thanks fellas. can't tell you how pleased I am to have reached this stage. All the aggravation is now forgotten! It runs REALLY nice as far as I'm concerned - plenty of torque, picks up the revs nicely and idles smooth.
I think the best money I have spent on this motor has gone towards having the crank and rotating assembly balanced. It has made a huge difference. The .080" bore and cam probably helped a bit too! How much of a running-in period should I give this engine and what sort of revs do i need to restrict it too? It would be nice to get it to a rolling-road once it's run in properly to see what its producing in terms of hp. Cheers, Mark.

i have been following this thread, great job and i commend your perseverance when confronted with troubles. cant wait to get my '46 on the road..... fixing hacks done by previous owners is a bit time consuming.
do you have any current pictures of the pedal assembly in the truck?

Hi Plan9 and thanks for the comments. I will post some pedal pics when i get to work next week as they are on my other computer. I used the stock bellhousing mount and added a little bracket of my own.

Hey Mark, thanks for looking into it. My truck has a th350 and Ive got a column shifter setup figured out but before it goes in permanently my brake bracket issue needs to be settled, the stock bracket will probably interfere with shift linkage. I have a couple options since i dont need a clutch pedal. A solution with factory bracket would be nice though.

Here is the best crappy picture I have of the pedal mounting to the T5. The stock bracket mounts to the bellhousing in the usual place using the three small bolts. I then made up a small angle bracket to slip behind one of the T5 bolts that fit into the adaptor plate. That gave some extra support in a sideways direction. It seems to work fine, but if I was to do it again, I think i would fit a dual circuit MC for safety's sake.
I hope that helps. Mark.

Mark,
I will be your friend..... Sounds great, just need a few more clips of you driving it with some of your 'livestock' in the back! Keep going, at least your truck is driving. P.

Thanks bob, I'd love to try some WWW on it to, but they are a bit too spendy for me at the moment, unless i could land some part-worn ones or something.
Thanks whid, appreciate the comments.

I have a 46 also. I love the truck, except for the black walls. Sorry blackwalls just don't do the truck justice in my opinion. Everything else is super!

Little Terry, great truck, loved the build with the T-5 then the 292. I like the fact that these Art Deco Trucks are so versatile, you can use so many different combinations of Engine, Transmissions, and rear ends.
I'm working on getting my 46 1/2 ton up and running soon. One Crusty One |

I haven't got the 292 in it yet. It's still on the engine stand. I'm waiting to save up some more cash so that I can order some parts for it and afford the machine work. For now, I can't stop spending money on gas for the 235 - I LOVE MY TRUCK! LT.
