Default Very Rare Center steer car

Yesterday in Emeryville Ca, just across the Street from Pixar Galatic Headquarters we had the oppertunity to visit Fantasy Junction. They have high end classic sports cars for sale.

The highlite of the visit for me was this Nash Healy Race car with caddy 331 power.

HOWEVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan will have a CARGASIM over this one.It is one of only 4 Center Steer Porsche racing cars built in the 60's, I guess they never ran real good but the are F*****G Goergous.

The beautiful people in the background are in the picture at no extra charge.

Then there was this, didn't find out what it was but obviously it is a very custom porsche coupe. It looks mean as hell.

BB

This may be a little OT but we all love hot cars and these are hot as hell with a little history.

Beautiful stuff! Good call on that visit Bob and nice to meet you and your wife yesterday at Sparky's. Believe it or not, I have never been inside Fantasy Junction and I use to have my office about 4 blocks from there. I think it was because I knew I couldn't trust myself somehow and didn't want to risk permanent damage to myself. You obviously have more control than I do. Hope to run into you guys in Santa Maria again this weekend.

Did you catch the price on the Nash Healy by any chance?... wait no, don't tell me.

Porsche used silver as the color of the factory race cars because it was the lightest paint from what i read. Those guys thought of everything.

They used silver because it was Germany's official color - like red for Italy, blue for USA, green for England, etc.

Nope.

Official color for Germany is White.

Blue is France.

Yellow is Belgium.

Orange is Holland.

USA is White with a Blue Stripe.

Story goes, that in the times of the 750Kg formula, the German Cars came in a little Over Weight.

( almost everybody did, so people let parts off, or drained the Oil out of the Engine, etc. )

But the Germans went back and Scraped the Paint off the Cars.
So they were in Bare Aluminum...

I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but Panhard Dynamics came with the steering wheel in the center of the dash.

They don't have prices on them, I guess it's " If you gotta ask, you can't afford it" thing

German car's of the '30's (Auto Union, Mercedes-Benz) ran without any paint to keep weight down. Because aluminum doesn't rust, the cars were left bare. This was the begining of the 'Silver Arrows'. As cars became constructed out of fiberglass, many of the German companys painted there cars silver (M-B, Porsche, Etc.). White or Silver with Red numbers are the colors for Germany

US Racing colors were originally designated as White body with Blue frame, when frames were exposed. When envelope bodies appeared, the blue was added to the white body in the form of the stripe.
