Does anybody know any guys that drive rollbacks here in Kansas City? Do any of 'em take AAA?
![]() I'm needing to get a '60 Cadillac on a rollback and moved to about 20 miles away, with a stop enroute to a car wash for a sec to hose off the underneath (it's been in the garage a while). It's about 6' from the center of the rear hub to the back of the bumper, so it may need to be loaded backwards to prevent scrapes. ![]() I had AAA send a guy out last night who didn't want to do any work it seemed, and was upset that he even had to get out of the car. He was sent for a '60 Cadillac, yet walked up to the '66 Fury convertible sitting there and in all seriousness asked if that was it! What's more, he told me he wouldn't take AAA, that that kind of a car should never be towed, and that I was stupid for trading my trailer off because I should've hauled something like that myself! He wanted to charge me full price, and even for like 2 or 3 hookups. ![]() Like $300!!! For a 20 mile tow!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() If there's any folks you can direct me to that do a good job, let me know. I mean, I really want the tow, but $300 is just jack-assery. It would be nice if AAA would foot the bill, too. Can anybody direct me to a guy with a flatbed who takes AAA here in town that could help me out? ~Jason |

if AAA sent a guy out who refused to load the car for no good reason, i'd be on the phone is seconds hollering to AAA to get my damn car out of the poor guys driveway i pulled into when it quit.
i've never heard of a driver refusing a AAA job. at this point i'd tell them you slept in a strangers driveway overnight because of the poor service.

The guy up the street from me will do it. He's pretty cool and he's already used to goof balls if you catch my drift. Anyway call me and get me enough info to get it lined out for ya, or stop by on your way home from work. I'm off for a week so I should either be here or close to being here.

I should!
AAA really messed up. When I called to renew, they instead mistakenly created a new account for me and now I supposedly have to wait like a week or two before my benefits start, despite "being covered immediately" as was on the card. ![]() And while I could tell 'em that, it's kinda hard when it's my driveway, and my address is on all the AAA crap. LOL!It was Mel's, by the way. Never had a problem with them until yesterday. ~Jason Quote:

You betcha I'll call you.
![]() I still have your chain. Actually, it's on a 318 Poly I've been trying to get a rattle-can rebuild (it's actually rebuilt, it just looks like crap) done on before I put it in. You don't mind me borrowing it for a little longer, do you? I need to get this Cadillac moved before I can dump that motor into the car it's going into though. ![]() ~Jason Quote:

I called tonight, but left a message. I'll call again tomorrow. I need to hammer out a day with Robin to do this, and need to know your guy's info so I can tell AAA I wanna use him (unless he takes AAA).
