G'Day Hambsters

I've been drawn here by a link from an Australian Holden Forum to the "Drag Cars in Motion" thread.
I have a love Vintage Drag Racing, Hot Rods & Customs pre 1970 from Australia & abroard.
My own weapon of choice is a 1960 FB Holden Special.
Its an Australian GM product, by GMH, General Motors Holden.

My FB is basically a scaled down 57 Chev.
It still runs its original Sideplate Six Cylinder of 138ci
with a 3spd Non-synchro manual gearbox.

The motor has been improved by the common tricks performed on them back in their hayday in the mid sixties.
It runs a triple carb manifold with 3 of the original stromberg carbs, ported & shaved head, lightened flywheel, chunky cam & fully balanced.

The Wheels are a set of Herbert Industries Mags that were made in my hometown of Adelaide during the early sixties, of which I have never seen another set on a car.

For those interested here is a link to the Australian FB/EK Holden Forum, were you can see more of these cars.
http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/ ....Enjoy

Regards, Jeff

Love a hot grey motor. They go good too for such a small motor. Don't change a thing. Oh, and welcome to the board.

Hey Thommo welcome. You should post some of the shots showing your chopped panel van.

Cool FB, you just dont see enough early holdens running Grey motors anymore. The tripple Strommy's are great.

This is my panel van I am currantly working on.
Its had 5inches taken out of the roof, you can see the differance
to the van pictured below which is the same model holden.
I hope to have this one done for our summer coming up before christmas.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments on my sedan.

Looks as though I should have stayed on a local forum,
Not one comment from anyone overseas!

Cheers
Jeff

You should post it on the main board, then you'd get more reaction.

G'day Jeff.

Welcome to the board!

Beautiful ride too mate!

That panel van your chopping looks familiar.

I've seen it in 'Picasso's (Len) album.

Enjoy your stay......

HC.
