Yeah... pretty cool. To be honest, the turbonique stuff doesn't interest me all that much past just being kooky cool, but I love the story behind this one. Really neat read.

WOW. Can you imagine the adrenaline this would send coursing through your veins? The balls to strap something like that to the back of a car .... America's politicians pussed us out.
That is BEAUTIFUL in a SCARY looking way. I wonder what that will go for at auction.

This suddenly has influence on my own 64 500XL project.....
minus the rocket axle of course. the high stance is just dirty, dirty mean. "Ma! I'm headed into town to look fer trouble! I left some bail money on the table. Don't drink all my beer whilst I'm gone!!"

It was probably an auto, because if it was a standard, i have a feeling pushing in the clutch with a rocket strapped to the axle would be interesting.

I've got an idea.
I know were i can get a 64 4 dr with good floors. my 500XL 2 dr needs floors, & it's an original 390/4spd top loader car... which I'd like to keep in that car & just lower the whole car a bit & make a respectable cruiser out of. But the 4 door, I could make my own floor for that old bugger, tub it while I'm at it. Give it that "I'm gonna kill you" stance like the rocket car above.... then.... the secret ingredient..... why a 4 door? shhhhhh, come closer so I can whisper........ Psssst, Mayberry PD on steriods..... (evil laugh)

That car looks so perfect it almost makes the story unbelievable. Coolest musclecar story I've read in a while.
