Was over to my Grandmothers today.. she said she found some more pictures. This was her first boyfriend Cookie. 1945 Grams posing for the camera. Thats grams on the right. She said they use to write their boyfriends name on the right cuff with nail polish & her name on the left. There was more pin-up style pics of my grams. Who new she had that kind of side to her? Not me thats for sure.
Looks like grams was one of "those girls" bro! Alright alright alright. That '36 has one HELL of a drop for '45!

Guess its obvious, she passed the "Hot Rod Genes",on down the lineage for your "benefit". Thank her,and thank you,for sharing these.
If I had a scanner..Then I would have scanned them. Sorry but you will have to settle for bad pics. But you can still see the cars.
i think she made the right move....that 37 is awsome! very similar to what i have in mind for a custom for myself thanks for posting Zach
Thats your Grandma in 45? What are you... like 10? My Grandma was born in 1892, and my Mother in 1935,..... and I'm just in my 40s!!!! Awesome pictures though, I love seeing shots of life in the day. Thanks for shareing
No I'm 39 & my mom is 62 & grams turns 80 next week. that means that she was born in 1928.. so that puts her @ 17 yrs old when that picture was taken. She thinks she has some of the old Oakland speedway from the 40's & 50'. When she finds them I will post the pictures.
Great pics, thanks. My Grandmother drove a big ass cadillac ambulance faster than anybody else during WWII.
i would love to see pics of the oakland speedway if you have them! having lived in san leandro for 20 years (grew up there), i heard all kinds of cool stories from my dad and grandfather, but have never seen pictures. i hear all day long about how LA and so-cal is the be-all and end-all of hot rodding in the early days, and the more i research, the more i hear about the east bay scene. these pics that you have show that there was some great projects up there too!
San Lorenzo class of 87' There's a few books about Oakland speedway. https://www.sprintcarstuff.com/ProductSearch.aspx?catid=1
