i had planned on waiting until the weekend to finish up the grille,,,but with the materials sitting there staring at me all day,,,i just HAD to finish up the grille,,,hope you like,,,,,just needs a little a little more weld grinding and then its to the plater,,,,,sorry about the blurry pictures,,,,,,,
Damn Jim, that really looks good. I don't think I could ever build a true 60s custom like that, I like the cookie-cutter customs mostly, but that really does look cool. Kopper Kart get under your skin?
Love the grill. I am looking for that perforated metal to do something with the 58 T-Bird grill on my 54 Ford. Where can I find it?
going for a late 50s look,,,,,,, you could have seen a grille like that in the early 60s too i guess,,,
i got mine at a place called mechanical metals, inc out of newtown, pa..the number is 215 860 3600......they have some cool stuff
thanks guys,,,glad you like it,,,im pretty excited about it myself,,,,,now back to the tedious work,,welding up the passenger side headlight,,finish welding the merc shell and front pan,,,then back to more fun stuff:,,rounding the hood, door, and deck lid corners,,,,,,,and welding up and running the exhaust ports through the kaiser guard.....debating on lakes pipes,,,i have a neat pair if 50s lakes pipe caps i've been saving,,,may use them on the shoebox,,,,,,,,,,gonna have to think it through a little more though...
I'm sorry Mr. Kustom Historian, late 50s early 60s. I knew it looked somewhat familiar and the first thing I though of was Junior's coupe, but I could only find pictures of the first version when the thought corssed my mind.
