I'm trying to put a poly motor (301?) together and I guess I am dumb. My question is: The rear seal is a big felt washer, how do I fit this over the crank? do I cut it or what? any help would be appreciated, Thanks

I'm unsure at the moment (at work).

But you can sure ask these guys - they'll know.

Here's the Polyspherical Engine Association page:
    http://www.geocities.com/polyman64

Hit up the guys at the Yahoo Group:
    http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/318poly/

    And also the Poly Forum:
    http://www.diamondbackengines.com/forums/index.php/board,6.0.html

That should get you covered. Check out Business Directory over at the Association page - there's more parts sources there than anywhere online.

Also, you might want to call and chat up the folks here:
    http://www.hothemiheads.com/

They're real nice guys, and can shed light on all sorts of Poly weirdness (even though they specialize in Hemis).

Posting between phone calls and emails here. I agree - without a pic it's hard to see what you have, there.

    I'd call this man. ;)

And check out Panic's (he's on the HAMB) Poly manuals here:

Panic's poly/hemi manuals are a joke, all he did was compile a bunch of chart info from Motor-Chilton manuals, he writes about what "may" work, but has never actually bolted the parts together or machined them- some of it borders on the ludicrous and the books are not even worth the $10 purchase price.
