I wanted to say my wife is a trooper and I love her. We have lifted the body of my 32 on and off the frame a dozen times and we "thought" Saturday would be no different. She is small but has country girl strength. well as we lifted the body as we have done so many times in the past the passenger door swung out and the weight shifted forward putting all the wight on her right knee. It popped and she went down. We went to the emergency room and they have put her in a immobilizing brace we are trying to get into a orthopedic specialist now to see if she is going to need anything else...

I'm really hating myself right now as I'm cool with hurting myself but it kills me to see her this way. :(

Yikes! Ouch. Tell her we're all pulling for her. I 've never met her but it doesn't sound like something like this will stop her from helping you out in the future.

Damn sorry to hear that. Wishes for a speedy recovery. My spousal unit is just happy she ain't pushin' the Harley for me, to 'pop-start' it, anymore..... hehehehe

  9. Well wishes for a speedy recovery !

Sounds like you`ve got a good woman there, better take care of her !

  10. I feel for her,, I've had my right knee fully reconstructed twice,, my best advice is to follow the advice of the physical therapists, because once a knee goes it's never going to be as good as new, and the only thing that will make it good on the long term is to build up all the different muscle groups in the area. Hopefully it wont require surgurey. get well!~

believe me guys I know how a wrecked knee feels. I had surgery on my left one four years ago and its just starting to fell descent. The all too familiar pop she experienced has me concerned....

Been there,no fun at all. I had torn ligaments in both knees, now I have a bad back from not lifting with my knees! I hope she has no major damage and recovers quickly.

VERY sorry to hear that. I gotta make sure my woman doesn't see a post like this or she'll never come near the garage again. As it stands, if she does help me, she wears gloves, goggles, earplugs and winces every time there might be a noise. She leaves the premises when I fire up the torch too. In other words, you are a lucky man and need to do all in your power to make sure she knows how much you appreciate her.

I am so sorry to hear of her injury. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

I work alone so I built this to move the body on and off the frame and alsoto work on the bottom of the body. All scrap material. Maybe you can use the idea.

  19. I wondered why you didn't make it. I hope this doesn't sour her on hot rods, and she has a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone. shes a keeper alright. All she kept saying at the emergency room was "I hope I didnt mess up the body" I told her it wasnt even on my mind. She has always been right there to help as I work alone 99.9% of the time. Great Idea Andy, Im going to use that.

Yea Sorry Richard she was upset about that too. The truck has a few bumps but I'm not at all worried about it....

    I need my women fixed....

    Rough stuff.
Since you had knee problems you will at least be able to understand what she is going through and what it will take to help her.
Best wishes from this side of the continent.

  26. Sorry to hear that, Shane, hopefully she'll fully recover, and be none the worse for wear.
I'm sure Deano, Bruce, and RK would send their best wishes if they knew, too, so I'll do that for them.

Sure.....get a good woman who will help you out in the shop, willing to get her hands dirty and you try to KILL her!!! ;)

My buddy's wife was helping him in the shop and tripped over a floor jack handle that was laying parallel to the floor. She screwed up her knee & hip, but healed eventually. They laugh about it now, but she doesn't help him out in the shop anymore. :D

Hope the pain subsides quickly and the healing even faster. Meanwhile, see if she's got a friend that can come over and do the cooking & cleaning.
