i posted this on the jockey journal but it got deleted. i don't know why, i thought they might be interested in this craziness. yeah, it's an ebay link, but it's not mine. look at what he was running it on. what are those, 30 inch apes? i just want to see it make a pass.
thanks for posting the pic. i went ahead and deleted the link so this thread won't go bye-bye. i don't know what's up with those jockeyjournal fags. the part for sale on ebay can't be used on a bike, unless, you're building one of these
they probably saw just the carb set up and didnt look further in the add to notice it was on a bike..yeah i hear they can be a little crabby over there in JJ land
Could be thats its as ugly as hatchet face? http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn.../albums/e305/mysterious-skin/Hatchet-Face.jpg
not for a lack of inginutity but what a waste of a sweet engine....I'd rather see that in a gasser, salt flat racer or 30's coupe of some kind but thats just my oppinion....There is no way that you could use all the power that engine is capable of producing mounted on that bike...
Welp, I asked "how do you ride that cycle?" and this was the reply: I built that bike 30 years ago for dragstrip use only doing exibition smoke runs. Crashed it real bad in 82 and made it streetable after that. It don't corner worth a damn but is lots of fun on a straight line. I have built lots of V8 sidewinders some more rideable than others. Thanks, Kurt
There is no way that, that bike was a Drag bike. With handle bars that high. First the air at top speed would blow you off the bike. Second with bars that high there is no way you would have the strength to hold that thing in a straight line. I would not want to slide off the front of the seat. The exhaust is there. I think the bike was built for show and not riding. I think he is a dreamer. I'm being polite.
"Crashed it real bad in 82 and made it streetable after that." Hot40Rod...you don't think that maybe he changed it up a bit (front end) after he wrecked it?
I was thinking that too but there isn't really any way to change that straight up riding position with that blower on it and same goes for the ape hangers to clear that engine. Either way, I don't doubt that it would be a fun exhibition bike. I love that engine and I'm sure it's not the first rodeo for this guy.
