I took the text from the Monroe shock dimensions PDF, and rearranged it to make it easier to find the shocks by size. They are now sorted by style of end (upper first), then by size of end, then by lower end style and size. I needed this to find my shocks
You can cross reference #'s with other brands. I hope this helps somebody. |

Hey 4t! Thanks for your efforts, Dude!
Damn! It's about three weeks too late to do me any good. At least the parts guy I deal with was nice enough to hand me an old Monroe catalog to study at my leisure before I found the one with the right dimensions for my application. Once I boned up on type of end part codes I had to go thru my catalog underlining those that met that criteria. Only then could I find the dimensions I needed. Hey fellow HAMBers do yourself a favor and d/l this zip for future reference. |

THANKS-Wow-have spent many an hour trying to figure out what shock might fit what-on the front of my '47 Ford Coupe with a stock axle with reversed eye dearched spring with three leaves removed I found that rear shocks from an early 60's Corvette were perfect. I know I will be shot for this, but Tokico brand shocks out performed any Monroe, KYB, etc that I tried.

This sure helped me find a shock for my 63 Pontiac Tempest. The Monroe catalog (website) implies that Tempests weren't made until 64!

Okay ... I've outsmarted myself again! I used this handy chart to pick and order Monroe 37019's. The diameter of these shocks are to large (2"+) and they have to fit through an 1 3/4" hole in the lower control arm.
Is there a listing anywhere of Monroe P/N vs Outside Diameter??? Thanks for any Help, John |
