After much review, I nominate the car as being the former Adkins and Hardcastle coupe. They ran an Astra J-5 on fuel with Gary Southern doing the driving. I had heard that the car later surfaced to be run on gas in the AA/GS circuit.

Is it possible that it might be Pat "Akins" instead of "Adkins?" If so, I recall dropping by his house one time (in Arcadia unless I'm mistaken) with Ron Mandella (sometime driver of the Shores and Hess AA/GS Anglia) almost 40 years ago. One of the most vivid memories of that visit was the fact that he had a gullwing Mercedes coupe sitting on one side of the driveway, covered with dead leaves and obviously not a priority in his life at the moment.

Back again, begging. Does anybody have any photos of Paul Stage's AA/C from the late 60's-early 70's?

Meanwhile, enjoy some Mike Sullivan.

What made the orginal blue car so cool, was that it was built by Sullivan himself. A true testament to old school hot rodding. A very simple, clean machine. I recall it being both in injected and blown format. Very competetive car regardless of the type of engine

I much prefer the blue and white car myself. From what I've found, it was only white in it's injected form. I think the car was way ahead of it's time. Sat low and appeared to me at least, that it had a little longer wheelbase than the others of the day. That means much, much better handling. I'm in the process of gathering parts to build the car in 1/16th scale as I also want to do Stage's AA/C 23T. The hardest part is coming up with a 1/16th 392. 426 engines are no problem, can find them all day long, have several myself. The easy rout is just to reposition the mag and slap a set of 392 valve covers on the 426 but I know Revell did a couple of their 1/16th kits with 392's so I need to run down a couple.

Here's a few KABOOM shots.

This is the only thing I've been able to find other than in my memory which was probably 38 years ago or so.

Somebody has to have some pics.

You are right on the observations of the injected proportions. It wasnt the atypical engine high in the sky, 92 inch wheelbase rig. As for a 392 for the Paul Stage car, how about the motor from the AMT 65 Don Garlits kit? Kuddos for trying to replicate one of the coolest cars there ever was. I have some industrial video from the 60's. In it is the race (Springnationals or Indy) where Stage wins Super Elim by spotting Dyno Don's Cougar and catches him!

The 392 from the Garlits car would be perfect if it was in 1/16th scale. Unfortunatley, it's in 1/25th.

Sure would like to see the tape. I have found a little clip on you tube with Stage's car in it. 5 to 10 seconds worth maybe, none of the shots are from a decent angle.

The Beebe/Mulligan and Keeling and Clayton cars both have 392 motors but you can't have mine even though I have a couple of the K/C kits. I would like to find a 1/16 Wynn's Winder (Prudhomme) as it is the closest thing to my real front motor car except for the 426 (Unless I build the Hot Rod Magazine cover version.
