That photo has been around for 45 years looking just like that.
A somewhat wide angle lens makes the car slightly distorted, but that photo is real. And Skip, this photo, no doubt, was taken at the split-second when the driver got out of it because of the wheelstand, but there still was power to the wheels. As you know, there's a fraction of a second that a photo like this with the butterflies almost closed is possible. Thats at Lions in about 1965-66...the pinnacle of drag racing

TJ, you need to get or borrow the 3 disc Lions dragstrip DVD set. Wheelstands were quite common there.
