ATTENTION!!!! PRESS RELEASE 1962 Motorama (Indy) Offical Post

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by MercDeuceMan, Dec 8, 2007.

  1. The Road Rockets of Indy and Promotions Inc. Present to you the 1962 Motorama. We have secured once again an entire room dedicated for this extension of the 500 WoW.

The third annual 1962 Motorama held in conjuction with the 500 World of Wheels in Indy will be on Feb 8th, 9th and 10th 2008.

We guarantee your move-in and move-out to be hassle free and the quickest you have ever experienced.

    The criteria is as follows:

    1) Looking for a nice cross section of vehicles that would have been on display in an indoor car show in 1962.

    2) Not interested in any (art cars), unless they happen to have a significate history such as Ed Roth built piece, or a Motorama feature car from back in the day.

    3) Period correct hotrods, customs, trucks, Quality finished vehicles will be given consideration over unfinished cars.

FINAL DECISIONS ON WHAT VEHICLES ARE ACCEPTED WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE PRODUCER not the Road Rockets. Bottom line here is after all the smoke clears, if your entry is not accepted, don't blame the club. The Indianapolis based car clubs that help the producer with this event are the host clubs only. The host clubs, nor the ISCA have the final say about which cars make it into the show. In the case of this event, the PRODUCER is Promotions, Inc.

    4) Street driven cars are good.

    5) As in the past, the vehicles are not roped off. As crazy as this sounds, the spectators in Indy are very respectful of the cars, and we have never had a problem.

    6) Entry for this event is a smoking deal @ $15.00. This includes your fee to enter the car, two weekend passes, parking passes and a shitload of fun all weekend long with peolpe who all have similiar interests.

    7) Last year we gave every pre-entry a t-shirt, dash plaque, stickers etc. This year we won't be doing the t-shirt but promise you something a whole cooler than some black t-shirt.

    8) Don't wait until the last minute to enter your vehicle. Some of what will be given to the participates will be custom made and ordered in advance so we have to have an accurate count for some of the goodies right after the first of the year.

Pre-entry cutoff for the goodies will be January 4th, 2008.

    9) This year we will be doing our own awards. They will be handmade, not your average indoor car show plaque.

There has been a vast amount of interest in this years event. The entry blanks should be here early next week.

To expedite the process or if you have questions contact Tom Culbertson @ 317-244-8271 or 317-227-0413.

What day will the set up be on, and what time? Do you have to make appointments like you do in the main hall?

  4. Why can't the Boston WOW ever be that cool?

I can't believe how fast the Tiki left the shop. I never even got to see the new mods. That makes me even more excited to make it to the show. I love that car and the new version is going to be the best yet. From what I hear that is going to be WHOLE LOTTA chrome on that thing. Hope he makes but I'm sure he will.

I'm game. I've got the bug in the garage and should have the bumpers off tomorrow and have already got much of the car cleaned up. I'm going to try to get the rear wheels off and rechromed as soon as I find a pair of GM rollers to replace them.

My buddy Mike wants to show his car, he has been talking about ever since we shared SPAM with the INDY guys. Tom, any interest of should I break it to the big guy that maybe we should just go and hang out.

  10. Tracy,
In the past we have been pretty flexible on move in. We have our own room with it's own entrance so we are not tied to a fixed schedule like the big boys. As always we will try to use the weather to our advantage. If the weather forecast goes to shit that week and wednseday looks better than Thursday we should be able to accomodate.

Bubba, Yeah, I got stuff strung out in Avon, Indianapoils, Australia, and Nashville,Tn. Von Dust's fingers are down to the bone sanding on all the scoops and fins. His goal is to have the car up in primer by the end of next week.

  11. You guys have done a great job with this promotion and I'm looking forward to it for sure. Bringing the Krylon Special with a new look for 2008. Can't wait to see how Tiki turns out.

  12. If anyone is interested in entering their car, see the flyer in this thread.

    Thanks,

  13. Tom Culbertson has the entry forms at his shop. Either drop by his shop, 1815 S Lynhurst Indianapolis or call the shop @ 317-244-8271.

Maybe we can get "Hot Rod" the "coolest" cat I know to get Tom to be a member instead of a "lurker"!

Just A Reminder We Have Entry Forms At Toms Shop (address And Phone Number Above) For Those Interested. We Will Be Around All Week Cept Tuesday Of Course

  19. Tom's shop cat named "Hot Rod" is without a doubt the coolest cat I know.
He thinks he is a dog.
Kinda surprised that he is not blind the way he likes to watch Tom weld.

Currently, the 1962 Motorama is about 70% full. If you have a vehicle that fits the criteria they are looking for, you had best contact a Road Rocket soon. When it's full, it's full....

I guess thats better than no excuse...huh. I do hope to have it on the road by this spring which means it will probably be done in time for the next Motorama!!!:D
