I have some steel wheels that I'm using for my 34 Plymouth project and need to figure out what I can use for clips to mount the dog dish hub caps. I was told that the steel retainer clips are made of spring steel that helps them hold their shape. If anyone has any ideas on how I can get these hubcaps clipped on, I would appreciate it. I was thinking of just welding on some type of clip, but I don't know what type of metal it should be or where to obtain it. Ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

you would need to use a spring steel, but you dont want to weld it because it will lose its temper, if the wheels already have small holes for the clips rivet them in, if not, drill some holes. But they do make clips just call around to some specialty stores that should have them or know where you can get them. good luck.
