is this the video that So-Cal and AHRF sell? Alex Xydias is the voice its a good video if so...lots of good stuff at the beginning Zach
That's great! Webb Callahan drove his long haul push truck to the finals! Now that's hard core. I'll bet he drove it back to Cali without a hiccup. Vance
RAD! I don't really surf the web looking for this stuff (not enough time in the day...hahaha), so when it's posted here, it's greatly appreciated.... Thanks!!!
Great stuff.............and video...........back when Dragsters where real........and real short.........Littleman
I have it on VHS got it from Main Attraction? great naration, great footage, must have watched it a thousand times
I ordered that video from AHRF for a H.A.M.B.er in AU who has shipping problems, did it take a LONG time to be shipped?
Listening to him talk about how the roadster guys hated the term Hot Rod, made me think of how alot of ya'll moan about the term Rat Rod. Very Very cool stuff!
I have it on DVD it's pretty good... Dose any one have pictures of Bustle Bomb? The twin dragster with an Olds and a Cadillac?
I picked that up about 10 years ago on VHS for 50c, video shop 'throw out' didnt expect much from the 80s looking hot rod on the cover but when I watched it man I fell off the chair!! That opening run by the T/F WOW! and the great man Alex Xydias!! Almost watched that movie to death, have to get it on DVD soon...... Doc.
Can someone tell me where i can get this on dvd? This footage was ment to be seen on a larger screen.
Here is a flyer I have, that shows that Alex was showing this film at different auditoriums around so cal in 1964. I had Alex sign this in '02. Mick
I just wish that the AHRF guys cood get around to set up their page for international orders and memberships. Seems to take a loong time. Have asked H. Astor about it a couple of times. I would love to support even though I live on the other side of the planet. Should be an easy fix in 2007 with Paypal and all. If any one could give them a push or a helping hand it would be great. Paul
wow! my mum bought this for me and my brother when we were younger on vhs, ive searched and searched for it but cant find it, couldnt remember the title either so im definately ordering this on dvd! thanks for the heads up Ryan.
oh also if any guys outside the U.S want a copy on dvd have a look on ebay i spotted a couple being sold.
Yeah, that's the one Alex Xydias did over 40 years ago, and it's been out awhile now on DVD. I got mine from Alex a year or so ago at the NHRA museum. It struck me while talking to him, how genuine and down to earth this guy is. He's genuinely interested in all the people in our hobby / sport. It's really enjoyable talking to him. When I got my copy of the DVD from him, I was in the process of reading his book that had just come out, and I bought another one of his books just so he could sign it. I think during our conversation, he probably thanked me just as much as I thanked him. It seems (to me at least) that sometimes these legends are unaproachable. But, it was a pleasant surprise to find that Mr Xydias was the complete opposite. I'm pretty sure y'all can get this DVD through So. Cal Speed Shop.
Great video to own. You can get it at SO-CAL Speed Shop as well. Here is the link... http://www.est1946.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=940
