Another thread about one of the best car shows in the world, well organized as usual and I want to thank all people that made this show possible. As I didn't want to mess upp the other thread so here's a new one with my pics...
All the pics could be seen here, make sure you press fullsize when you watch them for best quality! The Swedish summer showed it's best side this weekend. ![]() A Caddy with a great stance, grey primer is a nice color too. ![]() In Sweden we call it 'snickarglädje', straight translated it meens carpenters joy. It's when you could tell that the builder had a good time building, sort of. This car had a lot of this.![]() ![]() Dashboard fantasies... ![]() Time to have something to eat, turned out that it wasn't the best place to keep the matches, we were pretty close to losing our eyebrows... ![]() Later on when the bands began to play on stage the rest of the area got a little empty, good for me then. I love this pickup... ![]() This one was also great. ![]() ![]() ![]() There were also some great bikes at the show as usual! ![]() Well, the 'battlefield' is close to empty, time to go to bed. ![]() Bikes again then. Some of the guys from Jokers are now riding bikes, great bikes that matches the cars. ![]() ![]() Steve brought his first hotrod that he has been working on this spring. It's powered by a Chevy straight six to keep costs down, it works great besides he had some heating issues. Time to go to the 'Devils peak' for the hillclimb then.

Need a hand?
![]() Almost time to let the drivers out from the pit. Speed division makes sure that everything goes according to plan, love the outfit. ![]() The pacecar went first with the rest of the gang close behind, just to make sure everybody knows their way up the hill. ![]() And they're away! ![]() This guy knew how to drive a bike, lovely style! ![]() The crowd! ![]() Two other favourites... ![]() ![]() Back on the camp and car area. This was an awsome sight to see, and even better meeting it on the road. ![]() It got dark again... ![]() But people never gave up working on their (or others) rides. ![]() Thank you A-Bombers for a wonderful weekend!

Wow, thank you all for the great response on the pics!
How about a few more then if someone missed the link in the first post. The tattooartists had many customers this weekend, there were 3 guys I think that did their magic all day and almost all night aswell. ![]() I love the seats in this car, always great with a sponsor on parts... ![]() Looks like this guy had a 'hot' car, perhaps a little to hot. ![]() Friday night was a little colder then saturday, the amount of dew was huge to, many guys slept behind their cars as usual, chilly... ![]() There were five or six bands performing on stage on these two days, I have no idea which band this was, but they did a great show! ![]() I love this one, great modifications on it and I think it looks stunning. If anyone have got an idea on where to get these taillights or have a set to sell, please contact me because my friend would like som for his 55 Customline. ![]() The Wizzzard in action doing his magic on a Hudson. ![]() Another guy who really know how to use the paint is 'Von Sven', I love seeing these guys work, amazing skills! ![]() A good start for a nice camper or something to use for next year. ;-) ![]() The 'huff puff' parked out in the field. ![]() A lot of metalshaping on this ride, a lot of fine details on this one. ![]() The towtruck was great. ![]() Yummie!

I always look forward to the OSW pics. Something about this show just makes it awesome! It's almost like a time warp. The SoCal scene can be little stupid and seeing how you guys take Hot Rods Customs and music into a weekend show is perfect. Thanks for sharing.

The guys from Jokers came with mostly bikes this year, I sort of miss some of the cars.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Love the color on this one, very red. ![]() ![]() ![]() On the way to the campingsite. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The old Saab again. ![]() ![]() ![]() Fireball Steven sold records all weekend long. So, on saturday afternoon the cars started rolling to 'Devils peak' and the hillclimb! This year, with a more dusty track then ever!
![]() The a-bombers track crew is about to get ready for this years race. ![]() The Volvo L120 made the track a little smoother since the rainy night made the track a little bumpy! ![]() The Pacecar is lined up to give the racers a preview of the track before their two 'hot rounds'... ![]() I love the stance and the looks of this one... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Track preview. This guy probably knows the track by now since he has been in the race for a few year now. ![]() It's the same here. ![]() Last years winner? ![]() One of the first 'sharp' passes up the hill, a well driven sled. ![]() Kustom Klaus, right? ![]() Race face! ![]() This guy did'nt hold back much! ![]() A rookie I think, did a great job going up the hill. ![]() It got a little dusty after a few cars passed, my poor little camera and camerabag turned grey, but it got worse later on... ![]() This guy knew how to throw the bike up the hill, full throttle, point and go! ![]() Norwegian pickup, full throttle more or less and one hand on the horn, always nice with waterinjected exhaust. ![]() Another bike, one of the quicker bikes this time, great style aswell.

![]() This guy won the bike class, very quick and a good driver. ![]() This one had the loud pedal jammed to the floor most of the way to the top. ![]() Result! :-D ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once again! ;-D ![]() This time with more angle and a longer drift! 8-O ![]() Always nice to wash the dust from the throat with a beer. That was all the pics I got from the hillclimb worth showing. But I found a few rides down by the parkinglot near the hill worth showing. :-) ![]() I like this one, subtle and clean! ![]() This pickup looked nice too, nice paint, Astro supremes and a nice slam tend to do that to cars. And a few other tricks of course. ![]() A little german exotica perhaps. Can't help it, I love the stance of the car and the wheels. Check out the camber in the rear... ;-D ![]() After a quick stop in Uddevalla and a not so quick but very tasty Pizza, I headed back the 30min drive to Backamo where the camp and party is. A few new cars had turned up when I arrived. ![]() Steves rod could be seen at the 'waterhole' on the 1st page in this thread. To this year he hade a quickchange axle mounted, the car got some paint aswell, black frame and a very green flake paint made by the owner. ![]() ![]() This car was from Norway, the scallop paintjob was made on the Jokers carshow in june this year with rattlecans and a bit of beer. The owner chopped the roof and relocated/lowered the rearlights and lengthened the rear fenders himself, details...

![]() Love this one, nice and clean, the cool rearlights seems to be gone since the 1st page of this thread... ![]() ![]() Pekka 'the wizz' laid his hand on this car, the lettering turned out great. ![]() ![]() ![]() I like the little fords. :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() I like this one. :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() An ecofriendly alternative to a handbrake... ![]() ![]() In the big tent where the A-bombers rock n roll show takes place there were among many others a band that played som kind of mixed skiffle/rockabilly, phenomenal speed with the washboard and accordion anyway. :-) There were a lot of band playing this year and I don't have the list of bands here right now, always nice bands playing traditional rockabilly here, great! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lots of people even in the food tent, great food this year too! ![]() This was all I had to offer! Please make sure to tell if you like the pics! And don't forget to rate the thread. :-) Last edited by Peepin eyes; 08-05-2008 at 08:20 AM. |

So, where can we find a giant camp ground that has some twisty roads or other surfaces suitable for lots of folks and also racing / trials events? My vote is for Bowling Green!!!!!!!!!! Gary

There are only a couple of shows I can think of that are close to the flavor of this show. The Jalopy Showdown is one, which I haven't been to yet but looks like a gas. I think the key is making it a multi day event, with camping, and an event of some sort, like the showdown with the dirt track. I think the hill run is very cool and really goes back to the roots of hotrodding.
Location, hell I have no idea, most of the places I've been are flat farmland, and the rest are too far away from me anyway. ![]() Quote:

Did I miss 'em,where are those gorgeous Swedish women?Off track a bit,I,m hearing rumours the European Sreet Rod Nationals could well be in Sweden next year with a tie up to a World drags meeting. That would be worth coming from anywhere in the world to see.Heard anything or is it one of those we tell you 5 minutes before the event deals???

Those are probably some of the best pictures and cars Ive seen on here. Seems Sweden has better shows and parties than here. Is your government more acceptable or what cause if that was here the eco people would have shit, the cops would shit, the locals would shit, then other car people would show and give shit cuase its a different category which is shit, then the vendors would shit, then....well you know. I mean it seems alot more pure there to be honest.
That blue one number 77 is just unbelievable. Id punch my mom for that one. That Gold F100 with that camper...i mean where has that been? Just bad ass really....

Hey, anybody that lives close to me...
Me pal Hakan Erixon will be coming to my house sometime this week if anyone wants to stop by and say hello. If you have a neat car he'll be shooting for Gasoline Magazine. I belive he is going to shoot up at the Bones place too? Seems my CC buds were asked to go over there as well and I'm thinking that he is doing the shooting. Have yet to confirm. Hakan rules, nicest guy ever. The A-bombers get it right! Look at this face.

A little OT, but what camera do you use? Yes, the night shots are especially enjoyable. And that blue 5 window...Thanks very much for the time and effort to share these. I've said this about the event in Finland too, but surely there's a travel agent on here who could put together a junket. I'd sure as hell go.

stay near by? You´ve got a campsite for tents/campers/etc. on the place !
Always signs by the mainroad (E6)from Gøteborg to Uddevalla (against the Norwegian border) directions down on the old site : http://web.comhem.se/~u52224286/A-Bombers-filer/Page348.htm |

Great pics and obviously Fantastic fun!!
....."In Sweden we call it 'snickarglädje', straight translated it meens carpenters joy. It's when you could tell that the builder had a good time building, sort of. This car had a lot of this".....I always thought "carpenters joy" was "flat as a board and never been screwed"! |

Well, this year edition of the A-bombers osw is over, I hope everyone got home safe. It was an awsome weekend as usual, thank you A-bombers for makin it happen!
![]() I took a lot of pictures and my plan is to put them in this thread, if anyone knows a place to put them (a free photopage would be great) so we don't get the red crosses after one day (photobucket that time). ![]() It's getting late so I'll just post a few teasers right now. I will probably get the rest of them up by this time tomorrow, that is if I will find a place to put them... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Time for some pics from friday night before the Captain and the beer took me away haha.
![]() The one that 'six pack to go' asked about. This is what it looks like now, the whizz did the lettering last year on osw. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The one with the massive engine in the previous post. ![]() ![]() ![]() An early sunrise over the campsite that led to a very hot tent combined with loud neighbours that never got tired of partying made me get on my feet very early... ![]() I like this one! ![]() A real comfy seat. ![]() ![]() ![]() Mmm... Later on we went to 'Devils peak' for the wild hill climb, more on that later... |

At 12 o' clock many cars & bikes started rolling towards the devils peak and the race.
![]() ![]() This one sounded great! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Another sweetsounding machine! ![]() Some pretty cute cars came to the parkinglot next to the hill. ![]() ![]() Smokin shutdown's rennabteilung was there. ![]() There is always a testrun behind the Pace car so everyone in the race can try the course before their two timed runs... ![]() Then the race was on! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This one almost smoked like a modern euro-Ford haha. ![]() ![]() ![]() A fast driver and machine! ![]() More to come! |

The rest from the hill...
![]() ![]() ![]() This one was a little soft in the rear and it looked like a ship out on open sea, but it worked out fine. Check out the front bumper, then check out the guardrail haha. ![]() ![]() People got a little more speed in the second round, more fun to watch then. ![]() Another hamb:er. Kustom-Klaus if I remember right. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This driver had serious oversteering issues in the last corner up the steep hill, but things worked out pretty good. ![]() Nice camera too. I would like to see more pics from these analog guys and gals with the really old equipment that was running around taking pics on the saturday, anybody here who knows them? ![]() Time to head back... More to come, probably sometime later during the day. |

Awesome pics! Great looking show. It's amazing how people in a country across the world can take an American art form and raise the bar so high! It really looks to be a lot of fun as I HATE Power Parking. Take notes guys, we need an event or two like this here in the states.

Then we headed back to the Backamo camp/partysite a 20min drive from the hill.
![]() ![]() ![]() Some gave their cars some tlc before the long drive home on sunday. ![]() This is one good looking car. ![]() All sorts of fenders. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Do you need something pinstriped? I'm very good you know! Haha. ![]() The analog equipment gang, I sure would like to see the pics! Wonder if any of them reads here? In that case let me know. ![]() A lightmeter of some sort. I got a lesson in how it worked, but I don't remember a thing of it... ![]() Red stripe, a good sign if your looking for quality Canon L-serie lenses (or tasty beer haha). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More to come...

Man do I hate myself for not have dragged my as over there yet??!!
Hope to have my BSA 500cc flathead -53 ready for next years event.. By the way, anyone going to POWER BIG MEET Västerås this year? Me and my friends leave from Burträsk/Skellefteå tomorrow(monday) around four and are camping at mälar/johannisbergs campingen. If you want to stop by and say hi, look for a really scrappy -64 skylark with a box on the roof that say SKELLEFTEÅ close to the lake... |

I can honestly say you europeans understand the tradition and culture of hot-rodding better than most in the states. 98% of the cars and bikes were spot on!! If i ever get the time and money to go abroad, this show is definitely my sole destination!! Looks like one helluva good time.--im jealous...
