Just watched the A100 build on the tube last night. What a wresting match to get the engine out. I really didn't understand why it had to come out the drivers side though??
I see quite a few econolines, very few A100s and rarely if ever a rampside, not a running one anyway. I looked long and hard at a couple old ratted out rampsides, thinking how cool a later front drive v6 or maybe 80s Riviera V8 driveline would be in one, even a Fiero set up. Never going to happen, just pondering the idea.

I know that a few of these threads already exist. There's definitely at least one Econoline photo thread because I posted picts of my old heap there.

Don't want to kill your buzz, but I don't want to repeat what's been done already and also kill bandwidth. Do a search, provide the link, and then I'm sure people will add new ones, too.

Flatnose trucks are fun to drive and I enjoyed mine as a daily driver for 5 years. I eventually got tired of arriving at my destination smelling like gasoline and exhaust, though. (that's what my chopper is for now)

Here is a picture of my 64 A100 Little Red Wagon inspired pick up I built about 4 years ago. 383/727 with 3.90 geared 8 3/4 rear. Would pull the front wheels about 8 inches ...lot of fun. :D

This was another one I did about 8 years ago. This had a surprisingly strong 273 in it. I love these little trucks.

Anyone have pictures of the old Tom McMullen A-100 pickup that he built for his magazine? Last I heard it was in Texas somewhere.

I haven't seen a thread w/ just old vans, lets get this moving. I've scoured econoline madness for hours, but haven't seen a thread for all makes. I'll post pics of my '67 Econoline shorty, it's a real piece of shit.

  23. Sweet. What a cool little muscle 'car' these trucks are.
In Australia we made Valiant utes here in Adelaide at the Tosley Park plant for about 25 years.
Us boys used to thrash about as teens in one of these ( like the one in Crocodile Dundee- they were badged as a 'Wayfarer'. It was a '65 fitted with a 340 ( tough ! ), torqueflite & ute rear gears. Burnouts at will- scary. Cops kicked the car off it's jack one night as yet another poor tyre ( tire ? ) was about to be fitted.

Ours when we got it test drove it seven miles bought it the drove it 400 miles back to florida.

What it looks like now I moved to texas in it, and have driven it to two shows in Dallas. The first day of my honeymoon was spent driving to Greenville S.C to pick it up from the upholstery shop. My wife is the best she actually bought it for me for my birthday.

got a 67 sportsman Schwinn bike van out of a barn in PA, for free.

Of course then I dumped a few grand into getting it going! 318 with 360 heads, 4bbl and thorley headers, 3.91 rear. Will smoke the tires real good, goes fast in a straight line, but plan way ahead to stop with those drums all around!!

Also you're always the first one at the scene of the accident!
