Can't wait to see Super Dave's van done, looks like it will be one of the few severely dropped Econos to ever be able to actually drive. Seems to be another dropped Econo being built in Cali, they are rushing to get it done for GNRS.

Steve, see you in Detroit. Hopefully bringing 5 more vans there this year.

Could somebody that actually has an Econoline sitting in their drive/ garage go out and take a pic or 2 of the front axle for me? Trying to ID an axle I picked up.

Been keeping this one fairly under wraps for quite a while.

Sadly, yesterday I learned it will not make the GNRS deadline. I just can't justify rushing a paint job after all the time and effort that was spent on everything else. Pretty bummed, but it's not the end of the world. The van will be better in the end.

Anyone have info on the Movieworld/Von Dutch Econoline that was up for auction last year? like what did it bring, who got it now ?
That sure was a nice relic/survivor and it supposedly was in running order

Here's a few I have had from the 70's to the present. The blue one is my next project this spring, 200 6 with a 4 speed column shift, 9" rear. I've been driving the black one for 11 years and it needs some major body repair, 5.0 GT-40P, C-4, front disc brakes, 9" rear axle. The yellow 62 was sold in upstate NY in the late 70's, the red 62 4 wheel drive was scrapped in 1999 after 20 years of daily use and I sold the orange 62 a few years ago, it's in Florida now. I have a few more plus some vans, definite addiction.

How are you planning on painting it?
What's under the hood?

I used the stock engine mounts and bolted a 68 Bronco 200 six in with the transmission/transfer case. I used a 65-67 Econoline engine crossmember to mount the transmission/transfer case and had custom driveshafts made. Both front and rear axles were from the same Bronco. I cut off the front coil spring mounts and added leaf spring mounts and shock mounts, axle bolted in. I had a custom pitman arm made from the original Econoline one. In the back I replaced the rear sections of the unibody frame rails and mounted the leaf springs on them, lined up perfectly with the Bronco axle spring mounts. I widened the rear wheel wells by using another set of Econoline wheel wells. The truck was rough, I replaced the entire passenger side, both rear quarters, panel below the gate and the lower driver's side panel. I eventually made a few upgrades, automatic transmission, front disc brakes, Offenhauser tri-power set up and a few other engine up grades.
