Once a long time ago there was a little 27 modified project we called "The Ricky Lakester" (not much to look at but fun to ride) Well the idea stuck in my mind.Been gathering parts here and there. Rusty repop 32 rails,34 X-member,27 roadster tub. So a few weeks ago started to stick it together. Sparkswillfly and AAsedan and I did some fab work with a big hammer and a bent screwdriver. This is how it looked last weekend. More pictures to follow as I remove the tie straps and vise grips...
Absolutely bad ass! The only suggestion I might make... drop the front and/or raise the back... Other'n that... the look is dead nuts! Sam.
Sam,the rear is low in the pic's I know. Haven't got the rear crossmember welded in yet. If the final ride height is ass low,I'm going to put in a 5" drop axle and mono spring I have in the basement.. Thanks y'all. It's been fun working on this little bugger. More pictures soon, with dash, steering etc.. e
Bitchn ride, gonna be slick but not to zoomy! But, that drive shaft looks a little whimpy. Just kidding.
awsome, it has a wheelbase close to mine, real short. Is that a Whippet grill shell I see.. keep us posted and drive it to the salt this year..
Mucho Grande......... How the hell is AA Sedan anyway...oh yea - he owns the bent screw driver! Looks good Eric.
I made a simple dash for her.I had to put a bar across the cowl to hang the column from.So a little sheet metal. Some old military gauges..couple decals. A new dash ! Big time update coming soon... Glad to find a place for the decal.
That's one sweet ride! I also wanted to say that I wish that a chance to visit with you at the Revival. I was the tall guy at the meet & greet that said hey, I know who you are. Keep pluggin away with your Lakester. Keith
