I had the 'Green Grenade' in my shop for a few days this past week
for a quick tune-up, and thought it would be interesting to take some
pics of it with my coupe.

To the Average Joe these two coupes probably seem to be nearly
identical....but of course, the details make the difference. Here's a
quick photo comparison for those of you who might also find it
    interesting.

There are similarities for sure...both are chopped bare metal Model A
Coupes, both are on '32 rails, both have multi-carb early Hemis, and
both are running 16" early Ford wheels.

    Now for the differences...

First off, the grenade is a '30, and mine is a '29. Then there is the
difference in the chop...I believe the Grenade is 8", while my coupe is
only 6"....There's also the difference in the visor/ no visor, and the
slanted A pillars of my coupe. I believe the Grenade is running a
    '28/29 visor as well.

Also check out the '32 gas tank on my car as opposed to the bobbed
rear rails of the the Grenade. Then there's the Halibrand quick change
versus early 9". Back window height is suprisingly about the same...

Up front the big difference is headlight size and placement, but the
grille shells are also at different heights, the axles are different widths
(the Grenade is slightly narrower), and tire size type is different. Also
note the hidden electric fan on the Grenade and the fact that my
    coupe has Buick drums...

Oh and don't forget the lever shocks versus tube shocks...

Split wishbones, chromed steel wheels, high engine placement, and
    under car headers...

Versus hairpins, painted steelies with caps, low engine placement, and
    outside headers...

Two Hemis and ten working Stromberg 97s...Loudpedal did a great
job setting up the carbs on the Grenade.

OK, that's enough of the play by play....thanks for looking.

Dosen't green grenade also has a couple inches added verticaly in the cowl, doors, and the rear quarter?

    Drilled and not drilled axles.

  5. That was cool, great idea, and Thanks.

  9. I think it's neat to have both of those parked in one shed at the same time....completely different and yet both are so desirable...

Thanks for taking the time to compare,

    Cheers,

  14. Daaaaaaammmmmmnnnnn.

It's like seeing Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee in the same space-time coordinates... you can't shake the awestruck fear that the entire universe is about to collapse from the concentrated whupass-osity.

You should have invited this car over and the universe would have imploded.

I can tell the main difference is that you need to do some extra burnouts to catch up with the tread pattern on the rear of the Grenade. COOL Post to see both together side by side. thanks for sharing

One's got a cool 1957 Texas plate, and the other's got a dorky "Antique Auto" plate.

Has the owner had any issues with running the '57 plate? I know '29 plates are crazy expensive. Might be a good idea, if you could get away with running a late 50's plate.
