    More photos from John Moore.
See the Belgrade, MT 58/59 Drag Pics post for more.
    Text from his email:
" These were taken in 1964 in Union Grove, Wisconsin. I understand the drag strip is still there and still in the middle of the corn field.
Notice in the photo of the two dragsters that the digger in the far lane has pulled the big red flag - not a red "light" , but red flag.
Cool - still had a flag strater - no "christmas tree"

Any chance you have some photos of a 1964 GTO that was either light blue or orange with a black reverse teardrop hood? The name of the car was "L'il Pete". If so, that was my fathers car. Incidentally he still has that car. I will try to get some photos scanned and posted of the car racing at Union Grove in the 60s and how it looks now.

John is from MT-ID and shot those pics while visiting his sister so I doubt if there is more of the GTO. I will ask him.

  6. Great pictures!!! I've lived here in Aurora, IL for all of my life and I've never been to Union Grove.

I love the color of those pics too. Man, I miss Kodachrome - no other film has that great color saturation quite like Kodachrome.

that pic was in the 80's. When I got it, it had been painted school bus yellow, then flat black. Im gonna restore it to as-raced condition
