I got a bunch of old mags yesterday and I gotta tell you there were a shit load of butt ugly cars built back in the day. Some of them might be worse than ones today.
We've had a bunch of posts about the Marilyn Monroe of cars, it would be nice to take a look at the Rosie 'O' Donnels.
    I'll scan some pics tonight.

  2. I wouln't call this ugly but it blew me away because I'd never seen this bodystyle before. and I don't like the painted wheels. do you recognize the car???

I just hate this to be another "Greacian" SP? thread

Thats a Volvo 544 turned into a coupe. Maybe not ugly but I sure have seen better ones.

Looks like a early Volvo turned into a Coupe.

That would be a lot of metalwork...

Wouldn't need much more than different wheels, and paint.

You know as a 4 door owner and the butt of many more door jokes, I have to wonder if Barris didn't go that crazy in some sort of attempt to distract from the two extra doors???

  12. How about the "Black Flame" from 1958???

If anyone wants to wake this sleeping "beuty" the owner's daughter would like it out of her garage...

I don't think it's that bad at all. I'd take it, open up the front wheel wells so it driveable again.

You can have the best basis, plenty of skill as a first rate bodyman,...
and still screw something up,.... built in 53,.. this 33 Vicky was just butt ugly!, a friend of mine bought it in 75 ( before restoring old Rods & Customs was popular ) and built a nice street rod out of it. to the builders credit, the chopped top was metal finished on the inside and outside, just 1 or 2 ounces of lead in the car.

Does anyone have a picture of that '40 Merc Convertible Sedan built in Connecticut in the '50s. It looked more like an armored tank than a car when they got done with it. No wonder it was later cut up for scrap.

Looks like where Matt Groening got the inspiration for the HOMER.

Paint the body? flat black and the wheels red, add some port-o-walls...
    OSR feature of the month!
