Well two more sleeps and we are ready for the debut of the HA/GR downunder Sunday the 3rd will see six cars go down the 1/4 and after 7 months of work i reckon they will get a work out from myself and all the Aussies thanks for your support and the oppertunity to have this happen down here
Ya'll better take a shitload of pics and post em here if you would...I don't think anyone hardly goes to the Hambdrags.com site...
Gonna be good! There's 7 on the entry lists now. I'll be on the line shooting so pics will be soon after the event.
Looking forward to a race where there are 6 winners at the track and 20,000 on the HAMB ! Please lots of pics and videos. Ted
I was soooooooooo pissed off at myself for booking something else for the day and then couldnt cahnge it so I could go! I've sure put the next one in my calendar so I dont do that again.... Fine looking collection of ve-heee-kills there QQ! More pics! Drewfus, I trust you snapped some when you werent driving?
How do you get four HAMBsters to the track? On a carrier, how else ............. Drewfus's unfinished travelled solo
They ran in the mid 14, still a bit of tuning to do, but the times were slashed each run. Not sure what the quickest time for the day was, QQMOON will know.
Speed was not on our side, I think the quickest was a 14.8...... Note: not as a excuse, but may I add that non of the cars had been 'trialed' or set-up, the bulk of them were only 'finished' (functional) at 3 am the sunday morning they were loaded onto the truck, so what you see is a heap of STOCK engines, with NO trail runs, the only drive was the one from the truck to the start line....
As a quick summary, we DID make it, it did happen. Life has been a bit of a blur the last few weeks, as we've been pulling out all the stops in the effort to meet our goal of having the cars ready to race, with 6 cars racing on the day, and I dragged mine down in the attempt to show people the basics of our cars. As mentioned, we did make an entrance, both in the physical sense, as well as the political, but I think the results speak for themselves, as despite the headaches and frustrations, the general public seemed to love them, with plenty of questions and positive talk, with a number of high profile individuals asking for info. Before I get distracted, may I thank everyone for their support as it really has been a driving force for us, as we've turned these cars from a idea, to a reality in 10 months, and that includes all (ok, some ) the politics and dream chasing. I also want to thank the families, and the builders, as they really are the ones who made our vision a reality, and whilst we've got alot more work to do, and cars to build, we've made a start, to which I'm honoured to be a part of. In particular, QQMoon (and his family) has been the pivotal member in this adventure, and really made the effort worth while, to which, I'm confident we are all greatful. Anyhow, here's a few quick photo's... As mentioned, this is my clunker, still along way to go, an engine to Build (with MUCH appreciation to Ahotrod who is helping me out BIG TIME)......hopefully the flatty will fire with avengence....one day always busy.. Nick CRANKing... We'll have the entire rainbow soon.... And this, for me sums it all up........we're THERE!!!! if it doesn't inspire you then you better switch channels.... Cheers, and thanks again to all, the HA/GR international is not far off..... Drewfus
Damn! You guys are stylin with all them pretty cars. I'm proud of you guys for taking the concept of the HA/GR car and building six of them. I know you guys worked your ass's off to make the dead line and I applaud you all. I'm sure you probably wont even want to look at those cars for a week. Give us the rest of the details when you can.
I think the only thing we want to see is the back of our eyelids.... Matt should have some sweet photos soon. Cheers, Drewfus
