Well, Mike (dirttracker26) and I goofed around and got all the cylinders to hold compression, swapped on a few plug wires and hooked up some temporary fuel and.... Woken from who knows how long a slumber!
jay, you kill me! i'm surprised i didn't get a phone call... "listen to this, lazy ass...now get in the barn and do this yourself."
During most of my build so far I nearly always have some old Johnny Cash playing for hours on end. Gets me in the vibe. Love it. Congrats!
What the hell motor is in there? Its to dark for my eyes to see. Thats way bad ass. I love the cranking too.
Are the car crank starts different than a tractor crank? You keep spinning a crank like that on an old John Deere and your going to get your arm busted. CHAZ
Always remember to keep your thumb on the same side of the crank as your fingers. Old farmer proverb.
Model T or AA/F nothing sounds better than the first time they fire. I've got a couple straight eights sitting in the orchard what are you doing next weekend?
I need to work on my technique. I am not nearly as proficient at yanking the crank like Mike is. I do have some sore palms though.
WHAT!!! Yanking the Crank! I cannot believe it! It was a fun time! The license plate in the trunk is a 1947 (60 years ago), apparently the guy who owned it back then was driving it to high school. Turns out he is an old farmer and is still kicking around these parts! We are on the hunt for him, maybe he's got some pictures of the old T racing around the fairgrounds. - mike
