Thanks for linking the two posts together... whoever did that !! That's way cool.

3W Larry, I think I may have a few more pix. I will see if my kid will post them tomorrow. (yeah, I have my 13 year old son post this stuff for me. In trade, I let him drive my coupe all over the dry lake today.... He didn't seem to mind.)

    Later,,,,

    Rob.

Last meet of the season next month....El Mirage-2 day event, NOV 11th and 12th

  10. Rob,
Do you happen to know Jim Lindsley? He used to run a superbird,I think it was copper, with Lindsley in big letters on it? When I was just out of High school, I dated his daughter Patty.

Bobbys car had a way high gear today and managed a 93mph and change. Lots more in it, I'm sure. Car looked cool under power.--TV

Great pics of really interesting cars. Thankyou. We've got 10,000 lakes here in Minnesota and not one of them is dry. Damn!

    Ryan,
Despite a 10 mph head wind and a way too high gear ratio. 2.80. (She wouldn't pull in third, I had to shift back down into 2nd to finish the run), she still ran 93.1 mph. So I think we have some room for improvement.

....just a thought.. something I have noticed in my own pictures and try to correct when I can.

would the black 32-34 pickup photo be better with or without the plastic crapper in the background?

that is the question I would have asked myself when shooting that one. I spent a good 10 minutes removing a row of plastic crappers from one of my bakersfield pics.

first time this thought entered my head was a picture of a 32 at pleasanton. grass was green, sun was in the right spot, no people milling about. it would have been a photo fit for a HOT ROD calander..

...... except for the plastic crappers

Sorry, My "CRAPPERCHECK" hasn't been working right.

  21. Did the Thacker and Shine car up the record?

  22. Nice pics man....thanks!!!

  23. Thanks for introducing yourself, Bobby. I figured I'd stay out of the way until after your run. After 2 hours of 1952 waiting at the front of the line, the wind actually died down a little and the meet continued. It was very cool to see the run, and I'm sure you'll get your license in November.

More HAMBsters should check it out. You should get there early or it might be a short day of racing.

    Thanks,
    Kurt
