Does anyone have some pics of the 31 pancake from Gasmonkey Garage...

 

I have a picture of a rabbit with a pancake on its head... which is where I think this thread is heading...

I think its more of a personality conflict than anything else.

I bought my car from Richard and it was just as advertised. A big piece of shit. No issues with me.

Try using the search feature. Too much drama for some reason. I'm sure its all blown over as he seems to be an active participant in the same things we do.

 

just did a search.......claims to build the cars but he dosen't...i guess....what ever I don't give two shits about the drama....I just want to see if any hambers had a few pics of the "31 pancake" that resides with gasmonkey garage. us hambers like pictures!!! with lots of color...

DING DING DING we have a winner. Since that point in time I'm a seller.

I've met Richard on several occasions. Thing is he came off like a pretty good, knowledgeable standup guy. Maybe a bit over confident and a bit arrogant.

Also MarkX is a helluva a dude and built some bad ass stuff for the guy I know that much.

 

I think that's about the gist of it. His trademark ultra-chopped pick up was built by someone else. But I have seen some of his other cars and they look pretty neat.

 

No, that car wasn't built by him...and he does a lot of buying and selling of cars, mostly on ebay.

But since that coupe, a few cars have come out of the Gas Monkey shop that were built there entirely. He's a pretty nice guy, but humble isn't in his vocabulary

I bought a car off him....No issues other than advertising it a having an R-4 instead of the Turbo 350 it really had......But i honestly feel he didn't know.........

 

Do a search here on "that Model A that starts fights". There were pictures posted on that thread.

 

um,hate to be rude here,but did anyone notice he asked if anyone had pictures of the car,not if anyone like it or what they thought of it?13 or so other replies and only one guy has pictures but doesnt think posting them here is the right place?why the hell not?the guy asked for the pictures,you post the pictures.that's ON TOPIC.yeah yeah,it's rat-rod-a-bily-riffic and a piece of this and the guy didnt make it..waaaaah.now you're getting ME wrapped up in the drama.this is all i'm posting.sorry i dont have any pix,if i did i'd be happy to share them,as the rest of you SHOULD.

PM BlueBrian If I remember right he did alot of the fab work on that car if not he should be able to steer you in the right direction.

 

i didnt do any fab on that car aside from rebuilding a bracket here and there. I did work on a few of the cars that were built at Gas Monkey.

A guy named Ian built the car. Richard bought it. The motor blew up. Put a new motor in it. Did a bunch of minor work. Repainted the outside. Painted the chassis and interior. Bass scalloped and Lettered it.

I have no idea where it is or who owns it now. I was happy to see it leave.

I don't have pictures of it. I think there are some on Gasmonkeygarage.com.

Ya know, looking over old posts about him several months ago I realized I was the very first person to rip into him.

Over time I have gotten to know him.

Can he be over the top and a pain...yes.

Does he like attention...yes.

Is he marketing himself...yes.

Underneath it is he a honest guy...pretty much.

Has he ever ripped anybody off...I have never heard anybody claim it.

Does he make money...yes.

Has he sold a bunch of A's to people...yes.

If somebody is in trouble does he offer to help them out...hell yes.

Do I like him...yeah, I do.

If I can get over it with him why can't the rest of you?

Most people on here slammnig him don't know him and are band wagon jumpers.

It is one super dead horse now.

I don't really like Boyd and I watch American Hot Rod from time to time.

Boyd bashing on the HAMB is almost a hobby.

Another dead horse.

Unless you have personally been offended by Richard or ripped off by him your just being a tool bashing him.

Hell, you don't have to like him...you can hate him...but at least have a reason other than "everyone else on the HAMB" hates him.
