Ok, there's always lots of interest in Nailheads around here, and since I was reading up on some of what's been covered in the past, I thought I'd throw together a list of links to threads on the HAMB dealing with various Nailhead questions and stuff.

Some of the questions come up several times, and some info is repeated, but this makes finding the answer to your question...or just doing a little research that much easier!

I'm sure I missed some, but here's a few to get you fellow Nailhead junkies started!

Feel free to add any that I overlooked, to make this an easy springboard for other HAMBers looking for Nailhead info and answers to common questions!

    Dig in!

    :)

Sweeeet!!! I have a 55 Special with a 264 and the boat anchor Dynaflow and I just love it, the most relaxing ride in the world. Every time I take her out I come back grinning from ear to ear :D. Have you ever tried to pick up a Dynaflow? If you were to drop it, it would knock the Earth out of orbit...

I found a 55 Super sitting in a field that had a 322 in it and was able to buy the whole car for very little. It had sat there for years, and the tires were sunk down in the dirt. The car itself was on a moderate slope, and the E Brake didn't work, and I thought it might be a good idea if I could get the regular brakes to pump up before we pulled that tank out of there. I pulled up the floor mat and began to unscrew the cast iron cap to the master cylinder, and my buddy, who was helping me, got right over my left shoulder and about knocked me into the car. Feeling a little uncomfortable that he was so close and behind me (I didn't know he was that way) I turned around to get him to back off and it wasn't my buddy, it was a very large cow who wanted to see what I was doing to her car . I just kinda crawled into the car and went out the passenger door, that thing outweighed me just a little, and I'm a lover... not a fighter anyways... Turns out the cow liked me, it followed me around all afternoon, I coulda took it home too...

We pulled the car out and I took it back to the shop and gave the 322 a gas I.V., did just a little work to the ignition, hotwired the starter and actually got that baby to fire up, after it had sat in that field for a VERY long time. It smoked a little (I think everyone smoked in the 50's, didn't they?) so I'll probably rebuild it and maybe put it in the Special... I pulled as many parts as I could and had the rest of the car hauled off for scrap.. there wasn't much left.

All these links are great... thanks for sharing :)

Sorry for the O/T but what would a decent nailhead 4v with trans from a running car be worth? I have a friend that has one stored away.
It doesnt run now but he pulled it from a car he was driving and has it stored.

    What year and size Nailhead?
    What transmission?
What kind of Buick is it out of?

The above info would help folks give you a more accurate estimate.
