49 Pontiac, I'm not positive its negative

trying to get the pontiac back on the road, might run it to Paso instead of the GMC
I dropped the battery in and can't remember if its positive or negative ground. can't find anything in the shop or motor manuals

Look on your coil, if a wire goes from - to the distributor its negative ground, if + to distributor its postivie ground. Doesnt always work this way, my truck is negative ground had the wire on the pos side of the coil, sitll runs though.
