I think I replied once but I will refresh; only saw it once in early 70's..It cruised through MacDonalds in Newington, CT. and the guy hammered it south on Berlin Turnpike.. I think the guy driving was bearded and looked mid to late twenty's I noticed as I was trying to flag him to pull into Doughnut shop next door to Mac D's...I was at Ct Dragway a fare amount in the 70's but never saw it about nor at any other car events since that one sighting....

Does a "want-to-be-who-doesn't-have-extra-money" in Colchester count? Alas, I only made it to the Connecticut International Raceway two or three times before it closed and I only lived a few miles away from it. I spent more of my time in the stands at the Waterford Speed Bowl during the 70's.

Another here. Live in Windsor Locks now, born about 5 miles from my current house. Spent all but a few of my 55 years here in CT. Torrington, Barkhamsted, New Hartford.

Always lived in Mass. but Connecticut Dragway was the first track I ever went to in the early 60's.Saw Garlits, Angie Greco's Willys, Tasca ford, Cullinan's 39 Chevy , the time bomb, etc. Still wish it was open. Also, always looking for copies of 60's racing films from there. Will gladly pay. That way, I can always bring back the Dragway in my living room lol!

I did. Graduated class of 1992. My mom was one of the nurses at the high school for years, and my father was an MD in town. It is likely we have some people in common.

West Hartford, Avon - had a few prewar cars - 30 A tudor; 39 Packard, etc. - but nothing modified 'till now. Working on a T speedster & would like a traditional A roadster someday. Also back to a build vs. drivers, been a long time - - 50 going on 18 again...

I remember 48's tan 48 Chevy convt. from West Hartford 30 + years ago!

Count me in too. Originally from Hartford now in Newington. I can remember cruising the Pike in the late 60's.Also if someone bragged too loud they were coaxed on to rt 72 to put up or shut up . Couldn't do that today ,but was a lot of fun then.
