Since I have the fortune of living an hour away from Don, I and 2 of my FelPro race gasket engineers spent a few hours at his museum last Friday to get away from all the drama in the pits in Daytona:rolleyes: .
I spoke to Pat, Don's lovely wife, and asked if Don was around. She said that he had not been feeling well, and was under the weather and not come in today :( .

So, I thought my HAMB family that has not had the opportunity to see his fantastic facility would enjoy seeing some of the old engines, dragsters, intake manifolds, etc. that he has on display. I took 331 pictures :) and I'll post several. I found that you can come away with allot of ideas and a real appreciation for the times that most of us did not get to see first hand.

I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Very cool, the early 50's stuff was really coarse but defenatly full of roots. Amazing how quick the sport advanced. Thanks for the pics.

Some great pics from a awesome place. Do you think Big Daddy was watching the tractor pulls when the light bulb came on and he said" i'm building a digger with a sideways motor". Sick

This is a little OT but did you see the NOS valves sitting on the floor next to the Dodge Pro Stock car of Darrell Alderman? That's the closest thing to an admission of guilt that will ever be made public.
Backround: NHRA was about to raid the Wayne County Speed Shop and by "luck" or "misfortune" there was a "break-in" and all the secret stuff was stolen. The Dodges were not competative for a very long time after that.
    Thanks for the pics.

That is truly an amazing collection. Every time I go there I see stuff I missed. The antique car collection is pretty stout too. Thanks for posting the pictures. Mike

Thank you for sharing this great venue with all of US! D.G. is one of my major heros of all times. Also one of the nicest guys ever in the sport. He was always fan freindly, and feel lucky to have pressed the flesh with at a couple of different meets, the kind of guy that pretended to remember you and make you feel like the king he is. His genious really accelerated the sport both speed and safety wise. Cool coverage.-Sololobo

WOW!!-Boyd Coddington's shirt is in Big Daddy's museum??? I don't think you could see over the louvers in that blue '34. Too cool. And I loooove that 600 hp nailhead and those Caddy's. Pretty obvious where Chevy got their valve covers from in '55, isn't it? Gotta get to Mecca one day. B'ville is this summer, maybe Big's digs the next. Thanks a million for the post.
